[Help] Will a matching microcode just work? (intel z370)

I’m still really new to bios and microcode. I kind of understand but not fully.
So if my mobile CPU shares microcode with other desktop CPUs is it really that simple that I just update my bios as normal? I’m using a Xeon 2276M on my MSI Z370-A Pro. this intel doc shows that my CPU (906EA) shares the same CPUID as the 8th Gen Core desktop processors. so since the CPUID is the same would not patching the latest bios just work? or is there more in the bios that needs to be changed I already have an older “patched” bios that I received with the CPU but I never even tried to boot the PC without updating the bios.

I did do a file compare to the 2C0 bios that it’s based on and there are differences in the hex values

The reason I ask instead of just trying it is because my clip programmer got damaged and I haven’t had the need to get a new one yet.

do not update normal/official bios, or your mobile cpu wont boot.
whats the reason you want update bios?

the latest bios version after 2C0 has re-sizable bar. the current 2C0 version only has above 4G decoding

try my modified bios.
but i use old microcode for best performance, you may not like it.
