Hello. I want change microcode without fixes Spectre etc, because i heared what this fixes up Cpu Package temperature the by 10~C. I have a BIOS(official by Asus v.1105) and i tried to change microcode of my 8700K to 70(older for this CPU Coffee-Lake), but i cant do anyone with Assembler:)
You probably need a modded BIOS and then to block the ucode updates from Windows.
However, as a fellow 8700K owner, I can assure you the ucodes don’t do anything to temps. The best thing you can do if you want a really cool CPU that can run at 70-80C under full AVX2 stress in prime95, at 5GHz and above, is delidding.
What is likely messing with your temps is Asus performing changes to default voltages and offsets. I have a MSI motherboard and it happened to me as well.
You kinda have to learn to monitor how your PC runs and at what temps and voltages, depending on what task, if you want to find what’s going on.
i know about them. i can run linx 5.1ghz win 230w tdp, but i benching 24/7. i want beat top1 corona release, and i saw what old microcode boost benchmark results:)
