I’m currently trying to get the touchpad working on my Lenovo laptop running Windows 8.1. I am dual-booting Windows 11 and Windows 8.1 on the same machine.
I managed to successfully find and install the AMD I2C drivers for Windows 8.1. After installing the AMD I2C Controller, a new device called “I2C HID Device” appears in Device Manager. However, it shows an exclamation mark and does not work.
Because of this, the touchpad is still not functional. The driver installs without errors, but the I2C HID Device itself fails to start properly.
If needed, I can provide any additional information that may help with troubleshooting, such as hardware IDs, Device Manager error codes, driver versions, or system details.
Has anyone experienced this issue before or knows how to fix the I2C HID Device error on Windows 8.1? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
