How to get MCP and other chip ID by software on nVidia boards

How can i verify what chips/chipsets i have in my MCP etc. etc in these old boards? (mine is a 790i

This is not easy, because NVIDIA itself confused the MCPs.
AFAIK the nForce Chipsets with an Intel CPU (nForce 680i, 650i, 790i, 780i, 750i) belong to the MCP55 series.
If you post the DeviceID of your on-board NVIDIA nForce SATA Controller, I can give you a more exact answer.
