How to make BIOS file for Intel NUC to flash

Now that I have a programmer (CH341) a friend has asked me to “fix” his Intel NUC (Broadwell i5) that has failed after a BIOS update. Even BIOS recovery mode does not work.

He has asked BIOS people on eBay but none have a .bin file for NUC and want him to provide one! Can I just flash the “.bio” file from Intel’s website? Or is that not a BIN file? I don’t see the '88 88…" MAC at region 0x1000 to fix the MAC.

Thanks!

EDIT:
Just an aside, we removed the original BIOS from the socket (hard as it is a DIP8?) and it just does not detect in the programmer (Winbond W25Q64).
But a replacement (empty) chip detects and programs OK. It is possible we messed it up (put it wrong way round, etc.) - but it just not work ;(

EDIT by Fernando: Both posts merged

OK this seems to be more difficult than I thought. If we do manage to obtain a dump from another NUC would that make it possible for someone here to fix it just in case we don’t manage to?

Thanks
