HP 280 G2 SFF Coffeelake Support Mod Breaks TPM

Hi guys,

This BIOS mod should be really easy. I myself am typing this from the computer with a 9th gen processor installed. I used coffeetime 0.99 to get it working with the processor but can’t seem to get Intel ME to work. This is quite pointless as that also mean the TPM 2.0 chip doesn’t work.

The guide I followed told me to disable ME which allows me to boot but everytime I try to enable ME with coffeetime and reprogram with CH143A. The PC starts for 1 second then turns off.

Here is my original BIOS with SN, UUID and MAC:

Here is a clean BIOS:

If you could tell me how to get this working with Intel ME/TPM that would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the modifications I did to get Coffeelake support working:

take CSME “11.7.0.1261_CON_H_DA_PRD_RGN.bin” from here and place it in data > custom, when replacing the ME with Coffetime Tool chose custom.

That worked straight away! Thank you so much for quick solution.

How’d you know that ME config would work with my machine, is there a way I could check for future mods?

TPM only works with consumer and < 11.x.x.3xxx, except for Xeon CPUs, which should disable ME.

That’s great to know. Thank you for the information. I got a clear bios now so I gotta workout how to reprogram the serials on this HP. Could you point me in the right direction for that part as well?
