HP Elitebook 8540w Windows 10 d0n't shut down with fast startup enabled

Sorry, copy the wrong output!

I have edited my last post and I don’t know if you have noticed it:

I bought this notebook with Windows 7 Pro 64 pre installed. Perform the update to Windows 10 Pro 64 at the end of July 2015. After the upgrade I have noticed that the notebook didn’t shut down. Searched Google and saw that disabling fast sartup resolve the problem, that’s what I have done. As I have other notebooks, two of them older than this one and I don’t have this problem in the others I am searching for the right solution, disabling fast startup is not the solution!

I am attaching the noebook Bios options in a pdf file.

I will see the links you have sent.

Thank you very much for your precious help.

I have receive an email from HP saying there is a Bios update, I think F61 for HP EliteBook 8540w, but I didn’t find it at HP drivers page. See:

Ok, MEInfo and MEManuf report everything as being ok. That problem is almost certainly HP/BIOS related. Maybe some Windows driver of theirs causes this due to Windows 10 incompatibility or maybe the BIOS needs fixing/updating from their side. Ask them to add F61 or whatever is newer for your own model and try it. The only thing you can do for ME (not relevant to this issue) is to update it using FWUpdate + ME6 5MB MB firmware and to disable the Anti-Theft option at the BIOS (AT-p) as that has been EOL since January 2015.

Can you please explain how to "FWUpdate + ME6 5MB MB firmware" and wich firmware are you refering?

Is it Intel MEI Drivers & Software v6.2.50.1062 for 5MB systems complete package on D4?

Thank you.

Don’t confuse Driver and Firmware, completely different things. The firmware is found at Section B and the tools (FWUpdate, MEInfo, FPT etc) at section C. As I said though, ask HP to help you on this one.

Do I need to ask HP?

For your problem with fast startup, you need to ask HP for help as I pointed out some posts back. If you want to update the ME firmware (in case that’s related which is probably not), you can do it yourself by using FWUpdate tool with the firmware I mentioned above.
