I am Having Problem with Intel Me for My Dell Xps 9570

You can check this yourself in CSME System Tools v12 r38 by following lfb6’ instructions for checking ME corruption per the link I posted above. You can post your results.

By the way, the performanced is visibly increased. I test it.

I don’t know if the Dell bios update program is so thorough that it resets/corrects the ME. I think it does.

I’m pretty sure it will not correct nvram issues, so maybe you’re done here.

You said I don’t have nvram issue.

Here are the results:

I think your CSME System Tools v12 is old?

Download the latest CSME System Tools v12 r38, and run the tests again.

If I’m right that the dell bios update is so thorough that it can correct ME errors on upgrade, and you had no nvram issues, you should be good to go.

I would update drivers from the Precision 5530 site - especially the Intel Management Engine Components Installer dated 15 Nov 2024.

Edit: No, it looks like you have the latest Tools.

See my attached meinfowin64 and MEManufWin64 -verbose runs.

meinfowin64 and MEManufWin64 -verbose.zip (2.6 KB)

You need to run MEManufWin64 -verbose in the MEManuf\WIN64 folder.

The results came with no corruption:

Hi,

The Nvidia problem is still the same. The Nvidia gpu is not detected on my system. Can I revert back to previous BIOS? I tried it but It says “Bios downgrade locked due to unsupported Firmware”. Can I take this to the Programmer who will falsh it using prorammer tool ?

In your first post, you indicated that the Nvidia [Control Panel] auto switching results in a BSOD, accompanied by other problems. Are the other problems still present? After installation of the latest bios, you indicated visibly better performance. How so?

Not really sure what advice to give at this point. I’m pretty sure you don’t have a broken ME and/or a corrupted nvram. I’m not seeing why a bios downgrade would be beneficial. I went into mine, and there’s nothing NVIDIA-related. Is the NVIDIA chip even showing up in Device Manager? If not, there’s all kinds of Windows stuff you can try - like adding the device. You might want to try clean installing Windows also.

You’ll have to go through the Precision bios upgrades to see how far you can go back, but like I said, I’m not seeing what that gains. You indicated that going back from the newest xps bios to a prior xps bios didn’t help.

If you’re trying to just chug along and the NVIDIA gpu is in DM, you may want to NVIDIA Control Panel select Integrated graphics, and see how that works. Too many possibilities to take a stab at from a distance, especially given the prior repair. Good luck!

Nvidia gpu is not even detected.

After bios update from dell precision, the system throws thermal trip errors. This kind of error never popped up before. The bios update does not seems to work. I will take my laptop to a repair man who will flash the bios to dell xps bios. The power management is not good in this bios update.

Please run MEInfoWin64 again, copy and paste it on a txt file, and post it here. I’m seeing differences when compared to mine. For instance:

Post Manufacturing NVAR Config Enabled Yes - for you. No, for me.

Did your tech replace the exact same cpu? Why was it replaced?

I think you’re going to have to clean both nvam and ME, just for good measure.

Did your technician dump your full 32 MB bios before he did repairs? If so, have him zip and send it to you.

C:\Users\usman\Desktop\CSME System Tools v12 r38\CSME System Tools v12 r38\MEManuf\WIN64> My CPU was replaced because I accidently downgraded my Dell bios from year 2022 to 2018.

Yep, you did already answer that. Sorry. A bios downgrade shouldn’t have done that. There’s a fairly long process involved in a dell bios upgrade/downgrade process. Did you think the downgrade was an upgrade?

Please run MEInfoWin64 (not MEManufWin64 -verbose). I’d like to more easily compare with WinMerge. Can you copy and paste results on a text file and attach that here?

Probably didn’t need a new CPU, and if you flash another broken bios, you’ll get the same result. This post by lfb6 leads to what should be a good full bios. You may want to make this a project machine. Not sure I’d trust your current repair guy.

Can you provid me a list of actions so that I can tell my repair man to apply on my dell xps 9570. I would like to go back to my original bios since the thermal problem has occured from dell precision bios.

No MEInfoWin64 text file? Okay.

This is going to be my last post, here. You’re not really giving enough info. The Precision bios is absolutely good for your xps. I’m using it now, and if you disassemble it, it clearly indicates it applies to the xps. I’ve been using Precision bios’ since v1.27.

In your very first post, you mentioned that the laptop over heats. This is not a new issue, and I still really don’t know how you got to this point.

Tell your repair guy to dump your full bios (which he already should have done - and which I asked for/about), and then go here for a quick guide to clean your ME and nvram, and then physically flash it.

Good luck.

thanks you very much. I will do it

Here is the MEInfoWin64 text file:https://www.mediafire.com/file/whhpkfq6v0pfv4m/meInfoWin64.txt/file

The problem is that Sometime Nvidia is detected in Device Manager and after restart/ shutdown, It does not apper in Device Manager. This looks like a BIOS error. I have already done windows installtion 4 times and problem exists the same every time.

Or signs of a possible internal HW failure (dGPU side) issue on the laptop motherboard.

Can It be fixed? My dell xps 9570 has gtx 1050ti

Well if it can …for sure not by a remote chat on a forum, if your “repair” man is an experienced one, that’s the best chance to have such answer after consulting him.
