i have question about connect and isolate cpu pins?

hi, i’m using h270 motherboard with i7 7700. i saw topics in this forum to can use 8th gen or 9th gen cpus.

so i want to change my cpu 8700 or 9900. my question is;

i know connect pin requires draw with pencil or conductive silver paint for 2 pin to 1 pin, but i don’t know what isolate needs? anyone help? thanks.

For isolation kapton tape is your best bet, otherwise you can improvise and use e.g. electric tape or nail varnish.

That’s mean block the pin to connect cpu socket? Okay thank you.
