Install Canon 3010 3018 3050 USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 port

Hi Fernando,

Would like to ask for advice/help on how to install canon printer model LBP3010/3018/3050 with usb 2.0 cable to Asus laptop with usb 3.0 port ?

Info’s: Printer successfully installed but status printing “idle”
: Device Manager show no error (yellow icon) on the usb
: Already numerous times install and uninstall the canon printer, turn on and off the printer, plug and unplug wall socket, restart laptop

Laptop specs: Windows 10 Pro 64bit
Printer Drive download from this link : http://support-in.canon-asia.com/content…0100133001.html

Look forward to any helpers out here to sort this matter. Thanks.

Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
It should be no problem to get an USB 2.0 device working via USB 3.0 port, because the USB ports are backwards compatible.
My tip: Unplug the printer, reboot and then reconnect the printer. If this shouldn’t help, uninstall the driver of the printer and let Windows search for a better one.

Good luck!

you can also try disconnecting the printer, uninstalling the driver, reboot again then connect the printer and manually selecting a generic text only printer driver and see if it installs and will print a line of text, if so you know the problem lies with the driver and not the windows OS, printer, usb port(s) or cable.

you can also try installing the driver in safe mode, or if the driver is not win 10 compatible, try installing under win 7 compatibility mode
