Installing RAID 10 support software on Windows 10 pro

Dear friends, some time ago i purchased a new Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit license to recover my former installation on a RAID 10 on my P6T SE motherboard, 4 1 TB HDs as 3, 4, 5 and 6. Installing the Intel Chipset driver on a 1 TB HD as drive 1 I was able to recover my original system.
Now i am trying to make carefully the transition to Windows 10 Pro 64 bits by using the gratis update of my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits using the "MediaCreationTool64x.exe. As it was with my prior W7 ultimate 64 bits experience I tried to install the support software for RAID and the software reported that it was not supporting the installed OD version, here means Windows 10 Pro 64 bits. Where do i get the software to install the support for RAID 10 on my ASUS P6T SE?

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

Which “support software for RAID” do you mean? Is it the Intel RST Software?
If yes, I recommend to uninstall it from within the Control Panel and to re-install it once the OS Upgrade has been done.

Hi Dieter I looked into your contribution and have a few questions left. It is about Intel Rapid Storage Technology as you correctly assumed. My BIOS version is still the original from 2009 which I have not changed following the principle of never changing a winning team! The software I did try in vain to install in my W10 Pro-64 had the name "Intel_ChipsetInf_V9111014_XPVistaWin7" and the version I found at ASUS download site did just support up to W8.1. Reading the thread to which you point the limitation to W8.1 seems to apply too?

This old Intel Chipset Device Software package has nothing to do with the Intel RST software and with the function of the Intel SATA RAID Controller. It doesn’t contain any real driver and is not needed at all for Win8.1 or Win10.

What does this tell me?

What I have already written: Don’t care about the Intel Chipset Device Software, but uninstall the Intel RST Software, before you are going to upgrade the OS to Win10.
