Installing Windows Server 2008 x86 on Dell PowerEdge R630

Hello,

I’m having a problem installing Windows Server 2008 x86 on a Dell PowerEdge R630 which is equipped with USB 3.0 ports.

The issue is that, as soon as the WinPE boots up, the keyboard and mouse stop working since Windows Server 2008 doesn’t support USB 3 drivers.

I tried to slipstream USB 3 drivers provided in the Dell website (Intel C610 Series Chipset) into all the boot.wim and install.wim indexes, but the same problem persisted.

What USB 3 drivers can I use to solve this issue?

Thank you.

@TTY001

you can use these drivers -

Thanks for your reply.
I couldn’t integrate KB2864202 in boot.wim, pkgmgr.exe reported the following error: 0x80004001. I had no problem however with install.wim.

It may be that server 2008 does not need the update.

for now just skip integrating that update and move on to integrating KMDF and the drivers.
