Intel AMT via a vPro Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6235 Wireless LAN card. Option shows up only Randomly in AMT WebUI and only While Windows is booted.

Hi,

I have a M92p with a Intel vPro Advanced-N 6235 Certified Wifi Card that came with it. So the system is capable of accessing Intel AMT via Wifi. According to Intel AMT manuals, if the Hardware requirements are met, there is a section called “Wireless Settings” in the AMT WebUI where you can save the WIFI profiles ad Password
that you want the Wifi card to connect to. And this is what it looks like in my system when it works.

I can then also access the AMT WebUI and KVM via the WIfi IP.

But I have two Problems here.

1. That Wireless Settings only rarely shows up. Most of the time that Section will be missing and the system will think that no vPro capable Wifi card is installed and only the WIRED LAN section will be shown. I don’t really know why and when exactly it shows up. Most of the time I think it shows up, when I am booted up into windows and the Wifi card is connected to a wifi network inside windows 10. But not always. I can not reproduce a procedure to make this wireless section show up.

2. The Intel AMT wifi connection only works as long as Windows is booted up. Once it is in sleep state or shut down, the WIFI loses connection, even though I cave changed the settings to make the WIFI available also in Sleep States.

This is of course not how I want it to be.

My idea is to place the PC in a room where I have no LAN cable available and then remote manage this PC out of Band via Wireless LAN. SO shut it down and start it without a LAN cable. But as it is now, it does not work like this. The WIFI section does not show up most of the time and if it does, the WIFI connection is only available while WIndows is fully booted up, which is not helpful at all, as I need vPro functionality during BIOS Level boots.

Anyone can help achieve this? I have attached MEinfo and MEManuf verbose files too. Let me know if yo need anything else.

EDIT: The Solution was to use another Encryption.
