Intel Arc b580 with OLD PC/ HelP!

Can Maxsun Intel Arc B580 work on Intel DZ77BH-55K (i7-3770)? White screen + BIOS issues

Hello everyone!

I have Intel DZ77BH-55K motherboard (Z77 chipset, AMI BIOS 63-0100-000001-00101111-101111) with Intel Core i7-3770 (4C/8T, Ivy Bridge), 16GB DDR3 Corsair CML16GX3M4A1600C9 (4x4GB, 1333MHz actual), XPG 650W PSU.

Currently working: NVIDIA GTX 560 (PCIe 1.0 x16 @ 2.5GT/s PCIe 2.0 speeds)

Want to upgrade to: Maxsun Intel Arc B580 12GB (PCIe 4.0 x8 card)

:cross_mark: What happened during first install attempt:

1. DDU NVIDIA drivers → clean Windows 10 install on Kingston SA400 SSD 2. Installed Arc B580 → **IMMEDIATE white screen with colored dots** (no signal) 3. BIOS wouldn't POST (blank screen) → **CMOS Reset needed** 4. After reset: "Bootmgr missing" → **restored EFI UEFI bootloader manually** 5. Now Windows 10 + GTX 560 works fine (YouTube stable)

:red_question_mark: Questions:

  1. Will Arc B580 work on Z77 chipset? (PCIe 3.0 8GT/s support in BIOS)

  2. What PCIe settings should I enable in BIOS before swapping? (Gen3 forced?)

  3. White screen + dots = power issue (XPG 650W enough for 190W card?) OR driver issue?

  4. BIOS flash needed? Latest version shows 0057 available, flashing 0100 failed before

  5. Intel Arc drivers first or install card → then drivers?

:wrench: Current BIOS Settings (working):

✅ UEFI Boot: Enabled (EFI partition restored) ✅ Boot #1: Kingston SA400 SSD ✅ Fast Boot: Disabled ✅ PCIe Link: 8.0 GT/s (PCIe 3.0) ✅ CSM: Disabled

Full CPU-Z report attached

Has anyone gotten Intel Arc B580 working on Z77 chipset? Or is this PCIe compatibility issue?

**Thanks!**

Mboard bios very outdated…hw generation with 14yrs old gap… PCIe negotiation link shouldn’t be an issue, a lot to debug on Intel bios or a MAXSUM vbios not optimized for old compatibility of the Intel part.
The strange part is the “Bootmgr missing”…anyway, only my PoV only, wait for other users.
