Yes I am aware, thank you. MEA shouldn’t report it as "not in DB". I’m waiting for official CMP-V release (April 30th) and we need FIT v14.5 as well.
Hi, guys! I’ve been looking for information related to update ME for a Lenovo B590 and this brought me here. I love this thread! To start with, I’ve recently modded my bios, meaning I disabled whitelisting, or better said, someone else did that for me, but I wasn’t totally satisfied with that. The ME version on it is 8.0.4.1441 and I want to change that. I’ve also been playing with UEfi tool to bring the existing bios version H1ET39WW to the latest, H1ET85WW, haven’t succeeded yet, I found a thread helping me with that. So, I’ll try using some updates first, taken from Lenovo website, I hope I will succeed upgrading ME version.

All you have to do is use FWUpdate, as explained in the first post.

@Fernando Would you recommend me to install the new driver version listed in section A1/A2 or just continue with the "pure" version of ME v11.8.77.3664, which is v1914.12.0.1256? Is it better to just use only driver or software/driver?

ME Analyzer v1.123.0 r194
You should update your version of ME Analyzer because an important bug was fixed and many other things are now improved.
Since these issues @gloobox sent me a working bios however my unique values were missing and Intel ME comes up as N/A.
I’m using FF editor to paste my unique values into the ROM that I flash with my programmer.
I also found a tool called MB/TXE injector.
With those two tools combined I am fully backup and running

Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
You can do what you want, but I always install just the matching "pure" Intel ME driver and never had a problem.
By the way - the Intel ME expert is plutomaniac and not me.

Dieter (alias Fernando)
@plutomaniac I don’t know if you can shed some light on this?
When I install the latest pure Intel MEI drivers I always get 3 extra software components in device manager (LMS, DAL and ICLS). For some reason the DAL always installs a driver through Windows Update even when I have disabled the auto installation of drivers through win update.
LMS and ICLS don’t do this so they just show as ‘Generic software components’ using a Microsoft driver:
Now I could update those with the lastest Intel releases from this package from station drivers for example: https://www.station-drivers.com/index.ph…id=4389&lang=en
But I would rather not have these software components at all, installing the correct Intel drivers will install all kinds of startup services as well which - given the purpose of Intel MEI - I really don’t need or want
Older versions of Intel MEI didn’t seem to install these extra software components.
For clarification:
DAL = Dynamic Application Loader Host Interface
LMS = Management and Security Application Local Management
ICLS = Capability Licensing Service TCP IP Interface
What is your advise regarding this?
If you don’t want the extra software, check section A2 to install the INF only.
Hello,
I have this old Asus ZenBook UX31E with Intel QS67 chipset and latest BIOS.
It comes with ME v7.1.20.1111 and I’d like to update it to the latest.
If I understand correctly I need to use consumer 1,5 MB firmware to update, right? Which is v7.1.80.1214.
Is it possible to make a backup of my current firmware? Just in case something goes wrong, maybe I could flash it back.
Here is some info:
Yes the latest is ME 7 1.5MB and can be updated via FWUpdate tool. You cannot keep a backup due to the security properties of your system (locked access to ME firmware region) and UPD images generated by "FWUpdate -save" are useless.
Updated and It seems to be working fine.
Thank you @plutomaniac
I don’t use the extra software, I always install just the INF files. That’s what I meant with ‘pure’ MEI drivers in my previous post.
Regardless the recent MEI INF drivers also install 3 software components and those are the ones I was referring to.
Same, if I install the MEI driver only (inf), I also have these 3 other devices in the device manager but with generic drivers
As much as having the right drivers, since they are available
The MEI INF package is already the bare minimum install. It includes only one actual driver (.sys) which corresponds to MEI. The rest are Control Panel placeholders, similar to Chipset INF.

Get a full release like: https://www.station-drivers.com/index.ph…id=4334&lang=en
Open with 7zip (or other extractor)
Install:
