Intel ME Consumer Firmware :Firmware : 12.0.65.1567 [30/04/2020]

https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.ph…390)#post802845

this one contain Firmware PMC : 300.2.11.1025 [06/02/2020] the one in TS doesn’t

What is "TS"? I don’t see anything new at the provided link.

TS = Thread/Topic-Start/Starter … I means topic start

The file I linked contains Power Management Control (PMC) Version 300.2.11.1025

The file you linked in TS doesn’t contain it

Yes obviously. CSME firmware are provided at B1 and PMC firmware at B2. Each user must combine them via FIT before using FWUpdate, as explained at the OP.

Sorry my bad, first time flashing V12 I did combine them and got the same result,

thanks,

A an update on my issue on High CPU usage and Laptop can not sleep/wake up!

Using Intel MEI Drivers & Software v1950.14.0.1443 DCH fixes the problem except it doesn’t install the Component drivers (Including LMS utility) see #4984 for more details.

Using Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI/AMT) Version 2016.14.0.1555 made it worse, my laptop was so slow and almost never went to sleep mode without freezing with high CPU usage.

Yesterday I decided to give the newer one Intel MEI Drivers & Software v2019.14.0.1592 DCH a try and here are the results:

It installed the latest ME driver

6.png

It installed the Component drivers (including LMS utility), except one

The Only component was installed but without a driver has the ID SWC\DBA4D603-D7ED-4931-8823-17AD585705D5

When I searched for the ID SWC\DBA4D603-D7ED-4931-8823-17AD585705D5 it was the same driver as Intel(R) Dynamic Application Loader Host Interface but now it has the ID SWC\3C4852D6-D47B-4F46-B05E-B5EDC1AA440E and it was an old driver from 2017 so I didn’t install it. (maybe I will report to Intel)

now the LMS utility is installed (it is the component driver Intel(R) Management and Security Application Local Management)

So far I noticed my laptop smoother and faster, and much much faster internet response (maybe better communications the network cards)

since yesterday my laptop did sleep and wake up lots of times without any issue, my only concern I got the High CPU usage once on IDL, once moved the mouse it stoped and never happened again, a thing didn't happened once while I was using the older driver.

To sum, the new driver 2019.14.0.1592 did install all the component drivers and utilities, and so far no problems,, except NOT, read the very next post

My laptop is GT83VR 7RF Titan SLI

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, the funniest thing ever.

Once I finished writing this post and it took a lot of time and effort, and after testing more than a day, the high CPU usage again is happening right now, and it is still going on right now

Gonna restore the old driver v1950.14.0.1443 which doesn’t install the component drivers (Including the utility)

Just want to thanks intel with all these flaws : the last one is the sickest i ever seen !! GREAT JOB INTEL(LIGENCE) …

6 updates of CSME in one year 6 flaws …

No more intel going to AMD now …

Intel MEI Driver v2021.14.0.1615 (Windows 10 >= 1709) - x64

Since only the x64 driver was found, I’m not putting this at the OP. I’m attaching it here instead for anyone interested.

win10.rar (134 KB)

Trying Intel MEI Drivers & Software v2020.14.0.1600 with the newer driver Intel MEI Driver v2021.14.0.1615, so far so good, it has been 6 hours, usually I got the high CPU usage after 1 or 2 hours, except last time after more than 24 hours.

Good thing about the new driver that it removed the old duplicated ID SWC\DBA4D603-D7ED-4931-8823-17AD585705D5 i reported in the post #5005

It’s only for 1709 (16299) ?
I installed them on W10 2004 and no problem

EDIT : Ah no, it’s from W10 1709 (I had not seen the sign >= )

This Intel ME driver issue gonna driver me crazy!

Yesterday the combination Intel MEI Drivers & Software v2020.14.0.1600 and the newer driver Intel MEI Driver v2021.14.0.1615 was a fail, first time my laptop went to sleep it hanged with high CPU usage, I lost some unsaved work but it was my bad I should have saved all the time, but I excepted the laptop to sleep and wake up the first time with no issue, but i was wrong.

So I restored v1950.14.0.1443 from the same file I always install but this time it installed the LMS utility and the jhi_service and they are running as a service in the program files not as a driver

Annotation 2020-06-18 103248.png

Why would the Intel ME installer this time install the services? It never did? I am so confused

I think I should contact Intel!

I will return if I got the High CPU usage / Sleep Wake up problem happens this time with the old driver. If it happens this would mean only one thing that the LMS utility is causing the problem

If you used the firmware and followed the instructions from this thread then sure. It looks ok, MEA reports FWUpdate Support as Yes.

Edit: You are now showing a FPT picture and that’s scary. Obviously use FWUpdate tool, as instructed at the OP.

Everything is in order, ME has been updated.

AN update: I started a Thread in Intel Forum, usually I get a specialist to contact me.

Yesterday My laptop could not wake up and stuck on high CPU usage while waking up while using the old diver

I uninstalled and installed again the old driver and it installed again the LMS utility and DAL(jhi_service.exe).

One thing for sure, these utilities make my Laptop much faster and smoother I don’t know how, better I/O response and communications maybe, I don’t know what they do, but for sure tey are always on IDL and do nothing in the back ground.

Still not sure if the LMS utility and DAL(jhi_service.exe) are causing the issue, but with the old driver and utilities I got the problem

@jen11
This driver is not supposed to do any change in performance. In fact, the useless services may cause adicional resources usage and will never have a real purpose on a consumer laptop (not true if you have a intel vPRO powered laptop)
So I think you should take a look at your operating system and drivers. You can uninstall anything that is intel MEI related and disable the Intel MEI device on device manager to see if it makes any difference. The critical part of intel management engine is at firmware level and that can’t disabled without some bios modding.
