@ tObber166:
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

The ME Firmware versions 9.0 and 9.5 are for different types of systems. That is why you are not able to an ME Firmware update from v9.0 to v9.5.
Please (re)read the start post of this thread.

Regards
Fernando

Oh I see. So for future updates, I should only pay attention to v9.0 firmware versions ,right?

Was kinda confused when I read the note. :The Firmware Update is only suitable for Intel ME 9.5 (Intel 8/9-Series Chipsets) Consumer 1.5MB systems (Intel Lynx Point chipset for Haswell-ULT CPU, Mobile and NUC) , for the 9.5.30.1808 version :slight_smile:

Thank you for clarifying.

/Cheers

Yes, that is correct! It may be even a future ME Firmware v9.1, which will work for your system.
The ME Region of your system is ME9 and not ME9.5.

still having bit of a problem with vostro 3560 8 series i got 2 laptops 1 i can update intel me firmware and download and even downgrade but other laptop had a problem where it came with bios curruption it self, so i copyed good known dump file and reprogrammed the spi chip via a programmer now laptop comes on after 20 second delay intel management for some reason is not showing in device manager i tried to read me info but says there is no communication between intel me and software i feel there something in the bios which is conflicting and thus not activating intel me can any body help me rebuild the this bios or any other way to do this

@ PROMAN28:

Maybe our Forum member lordkag can help you.

thankyou fernando for your help seems when im offline lordkrags on line lolzz

@PROMAN28

You inputed UK at your location, but it is hurting me to decipher your messages. It is not a shame to speak a different language, as I do too, but at least use some translator or something.

You first say you have a Dell Vostro 3550, then you say 3560 and two laptops? HM67 is 6 series, but this is an innocent mistake.

You first say that you want to upgrade your firmware, then you want to reflash, now you want to repair?

You updated the firmware (to what version?), but want to downgrade, even though the latest version has bug-fixes and also support for Win8?

I think your problem can be solved. But unless you provide some clear answers, clear actions that you are trying to do and good reasons for doing this, I canā€™t help you any further. This forum (to my knowledge) is about helping people with real and specific problems, not a search engine.

hi again, if lordkrag comes on please if you can i am getting error msg, error 8193 intel me cannot locate me device driver,does this mean the bios is still corrupt which isnt loading driver for intel me on to the software utility to flash firmware,seems the newer laptops 8 series chipset use some kind of data from bios to activate the intel me, if the bios driver for intel me is curupted then intel me will not be activated in windows it will not show,the question is which part of bios am i looking for for intel me driver if you want a good bios bin file i can supply you can check for me the portion where intel me driver is i would be really grateful.

@gpvecchi

Iā€™m sorry if this has been asked before, but I need some informations:

- what is the platform you are trying to update - chipset, current ME firmware, maybe even full name of mainboard and BIOS version?
- do you still have problems removing Intel ME package, or just on updating?
- do you need the full package, is this for your network, do you need the vPro functions?

The reason for the questions is this: you can install the newest 9.x / 10.x packages only on newer platforms, starting with 7 or 8 series. You can only install beta packages on older platform/firmware. You only need the small drivers that Fernando posted, nothing more. The rest of the package is for corporate use.

If you can provide the log(s) from your Intel folder, maybe I will look into them. But they may contain some sensitive information, so be sure that you want to do this.

@PROMAN28

Please donā€™t abuse the private messages when there is no need for them. I will try to help you, but you should use a better phrasing and some punctuation, because Iā€™m starting to have a headache from your messages. This may be offending to you, but you also offended the language.

You said you already solved the Vostro 3550 with the above package. You should also consider upgrading your BIOS (version A12) and make sure you have the ME firmware 7.1.60.1193 with latest ME drivers. I managed to install 9.5.24.1790 on HM65 with no problems.

You have another 2 laptops Dell Vostro 3560 with HM77 chipset. One has a broken ME firmware. If you sincerely want help, start by posting more info. What is the current firmware and when/how it became corrupted? What is the current ME driver? Is it missing from Device Manager or simply not working?

Have you updated to latest BIOS, version A16?

dell vostro 3560 insydeh20 bios setup bios a13 (a16 is the latest bios ) intel hm77 chip set , right the problem with this laptop was intel management interface was not showing in device manager,sometimes will show with code 10 error,i tried to meinfo in cmd mode kept giving me errors failure to communicate with the intel management interface,i flashed the bios to a16 still made no difference.i even downgraded bios to a13 but still with no joy.i suspected bios crupption in the bios which was not initializing MEI, i then proceeded to make a revcovary usb, to reflash the bios contents as if i bricked my laptop. holding down end key and connecting adapter jack in and pressing power button, as soon you hear the fan kick in let go of the end key and wait between 2 min to 10 min till fan switchs off and laptop reboots.go into windows and go into device manager you should have intel management interface back in to your device manager and as i pasted meinfo list below. it works :)please make sure usb plugged in,make sure no battery or any other devices are attached on any usb ports before you flash using pen drive. i have attached insydeh20 recovery and instructions on the attachments i hope this information will help others and heres is the success pasted below. thank you to lordkag and fernando for there valueble information and advice :slight_smile:

Thank you very much!
Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe, latest bios (updated with latest UBU), MEI firmware 8.1.51.1471, GBe 1.5. It seems that some installation broke something, I got some errors installing/uninstalling drivers, and now it seems that full package can only install drivers (I have no folders, nor programs in installed apps). I tried some registry cleaner utility without success. Now, I have some freeze and crash that I suspect being related to MEIā€¦ Iā€™d like not to fresh installā€¦
In attachment, clean log files from latest MEI driver version
I think that a forced reinstall may solve, but how to do it with new packages?

On my ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe , BIOS 2104, I have installed without any problem the full "Intel MEI Package 10.0.0.1126PV" and i see Under the Control Panel a "MEI Driver" Version 10.0.0.1126 dated 03 Feb 2014, and "Intel Management Engine Components" V 10.0.0.1168.

@PROMAN28

That was my experience as well, that you must read or write the full region of BIOS (and possibly ME) in order to recover. I only did a backup of the BIOS and the firmware was recovered, but reflashing is even better.

@gpvecchi

The install logs seems OK and it tells that the installation was successful. Did you had any errors while installing, something that isnā€™t covered by the logs? Do you have "C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components" with the following folders: FWService, LMS, IPT, DAL? Do you also have "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\PostureAgent" ; "C:\ProgramData\Intel" ; "C:\ProgramData\Intel(R) Update Manager" ; ā€œC:\ProgramData\Intel\Package Cache{1CEAC85D-2590-4760-800F-8DE5E91F3700}ā€ on your hard drive?

Do you have all the dependencies, like Visual C++ packages? A good start is to install this and update with this - both x64 and x86.

Use 7-Zip to extract the components from SetupME.exe and install them separately, then use a good uninstaller to clean each one of them. Also clean anything related to ME from previous installs.

Does your ME device appears as healthy, or it shows signs of corruption - example?

What is the result of the ME-Test.bat?

No

No

No; yes; no; yes (running ME_App_x64 from there doesnā€™t install anything)

Yes

No executable files inside thereā€¦ Canā€™t use any uninstaller as I have no Intel stuff installedā€¦

No, I have to manually update the driver

EDIT: Installing old 9 version gives an error of Installation aborted because itā€™s impossible to start a component.

@gpvecchi

The last log shows a failure to connect to HECI Driver (aka ME Driver). This is why I asked you to run ā€œME-Test.batā€ and NOT meinfo.bat. Please test again with ā€œME-Test.batā€.

This is what I was referring to when installing individual components, after 7-Zip extraction.

If you can get them installed and then removed with Revo, maybe it will work. The names to search for is ā€œIntel(R) Trusted Connect Service Clientā€, ā€œIntel(R) Update Managerā€, ā€œIntel(R) Management Engine Componentsā€.

If not, try a manual uninstall. Some of them might not be found, which is a good thing. Type at the elevated prompt command:

msiexec.exe /x {1CEAC85D-2590-4760-800F-8DE5E91F3700}
msiexec.exe /x {EBB4E1B1-D0A2-4F8E-BAFC-EF49A4D4E2A7}

and for the services:

sc delete UNS
sc delete LMS
sc delete DAL
sc delete jhi_service
sc delete IntelDalJhi
sc delete IntelMeFWService
sc delete FWService

Search in %ProgramFiles% and %ProgramFiles(x86)% for ā€œIntel(R) Management Engine Componentsā€ and delete this folder. Do the same for ā€œPostureAgentā€ in Common Files, ā€œIntel(R) Update Managerā€ in C:\ProgramData. Delete ā€œC:\ProgramData\Intel\Package Cache{1CEAC85D-2590-4760-800F-8DE5E91F3700}ā€ + "C:\ProgramData\Intel\DAL" + ā€œC:\Windows\Installer\206f9a.msiā€. You should also clean "C:\Users\Jumpy\AppData\Local\Temp", but some softwares donā€™t understand the meaning of temp and store here the uninstaller.

Delete from registry:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Intel\Services\DAL
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\eventlog\Application\IntelDalJhi
- look in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Intel\ and HKLM\SOFTWARE\Intel\Services for anything ME related
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Intel\AMT
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Intel\IntelAMTPP
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\Intel(R) AMT

Uninstall the current ME driver from Device Manager or force install the previous version 9.5.24.1790. Try again to install the old package and post the log.

@lordkag I can only install Intelupdatemanager.msi from the package (my fault, I havenā€™t extracted them).
Oh, well, something new: I had no packages to uninstall/unregister, no services running, no folders/files, no such registry entries; but I deleted some registry entries; MEI 9 still gave an error, removed and MEI 10 got installed (I have it in Installed Programs); but I donā€™t think that all components got installed. For sure I have drivers, I now have %Programfiles (x86)%\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components (it contains just lang folder) and iCLS Client, nothing else, no other folders. I have another service running, Intel(R) Capability Licensing Service TCP IP Interface.

This is last Me-Test (always my fault, I was sure it was MeInfo):

Thank you very much for your help!

Good afternoon misters. Whether there is a return method to prior version of ME. Old.bin didnā€™t save. ME_9.1.0.1120_1.5 MB now, how to return the former ME_9.0.31.1487_1.5 MB version, without using the programmator? Board ASUS Z-87 DELUXE. I thank for the response.
