Good afternoon, I was seeing that my asus h110m-d can support 8th and 9th gen processors, my question is the following I have an msi b360m mortar, is it possible to do the same process so that an i5 6400 is compatible with the 360 chipset?
so that you can test the board before making the full change.
From already thank you very much
The 6th Gen Skylake is a LGA1151v1 and requires Intel 100/200 (SkyLake/KabyLake) series chipset, B360 is an Intel 300 series LGA1151v2 that officially only supports Coffee Lake 8/9th Gen, so straight answer is NO.
EDIT: Seems so… the so called Coffee Lake mod on Intel 100/200 with 8/9Th Gen, haven’t saw any one wot u want.
so backwards compatibility by modding only works on 8th and 9th cpu on v1 motherboards?
