Intel ME - Error 8707: Firmware update failed

Please for help with updating Intel ME firmware.

If I tried flashing a new version, or reflashing same version, I get error message “Error 8707: Firmware update failed due to an internal error”.

I tried recover BIOS, but it doesn’t help. My mainboard is Intel DZ87KLT-75K. Many thanks for help.

If it stops mid-way, there could be some sort of ME firmware corruption of non boot critical sections/components. Or maybe a bad/failing SPI/BIOS chip. From MEInfo I can see that at least the ICC settings are not set, which is usually not normal. I suggest you repair the ME firmware first. Make sure you have read/write access to the ME firmware region of the SPI/BIOS chip by following [Guide] Unlock Intel Flash Descriptor Read/Write Access Permissions for SPI Servicing, dump your current firmware via “fptw64 -d spi.bin”, follow [Guide] Clean Dumped Intel Engine (CS)ME/(CS)TXE Regions with Data Initialization on “spi.bin” and flash the output back via “fptw64 -f spi_fix.bin” followed by “fptw64 -greset”.

I used FPT from file Intel ME System Tools v9.1 r7.

Call FPT from within its own folder, not from elsewhere. Open a command prompt as an admin in FPT’s own folder.

I do not why, but today I successfully updated ME firmware to v 9.0.31.1487. FPT is also working, but MEManuf still report Error 9317: No valid OEM ICC data programmed.
I also tried fptw64 -greset.
