Intel RST EFI RAID/VMD BIOS Modules

@webmaster1 :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!

Unfortunately you did not mention the Intel chipset of your system, but I suspect, that you have put the Intel module named RaidDriver.efi into the wrong "Files\intel" sub-folder.
Please try to copy the RaidDriver.efi file into the "RST" sub-folder and report what happened after having run the UBU tool.

Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)

Hello @Fernando ,
my system is the old (10 years now, more or less) Asus Rampage IV Extreme (x79, Intel C600 SATA chipset)

Apparently the trick did update it:

I wonder if there is something else worth updating manually tho, using MMTool, and where to find them (?) but i understand that this might be OT so if needed i'll open a thread for this request specifically, then offer the BIOS when everything is patched and top-notch

@webmaster1 :
In my eyes it doesn’t make any sense to put the latest available Intel RAID modules, which have been designed for Intel chipsets from 300-Series up, into the BIOS of an old Intel X79 chipset mainboard.
I doubt, you you will be able to get any Intel RST v17 platform RAID driver properly working with your system.

The UBU tool cannot update the Intel ME Firmware.

Sorry, I meant RST @Fernando

For the RAID, I tried the latest version, but since I am not using RAID anyways it should not matter I guess.

For the other question, anything worth injecting with MMT or other tools?

Yes, in this case the update of the RAID BIOS modules is wasted time - they will not be used by your system.
You obviously belong to those users, who sleep better with the certainty, that they have the latest available modules within their MB BIOS, no matter, whether these modules are good for the specific system or can be used at all.

This question has nothing to do wit the topic of this thread.

Good morning.
I was searching modules for update mi “old” 3801 BIOS for Asus Z170-Pro.
As I read on Intel RST release notes, 15.9 is the latest RST supported on Z170.
Intel document said that latest OROM and EFI is 15.9.3.3408, but I can’t find that version on UBU, station drivers, Google, etc.
I located it on 1.06 BIOS for Acer SF314-54, but there is only the EFI, not the OROM, and I’m not sure how to extract.
Any recomendations?
Many thanks.

That should be the efi driver

EFI Intel RST for SATA 15.9.3.3408.efi.zip (92.9 KB)

I still have a soft spot for Windows 7, using it with Smart Response Technology on my 9th Gen PC. Last RST Driver that works properly for Windows 7 is 17.5.4. 17.7 is not recognised by the Windows 7 15.9.8 driver, I learnt it the hard way through it stuffing up my SRT config but got it back working after putting the 17.5.4 efi driver in.

@all:
Update of the start post
Changelog:

  • new: “pure” Intel RST EFI “RaidDriver” v15.9.3.3408 (without header)
Note: Thanks to lfb6 for the source file.

Good luck!

@PACMAN
Any Intel EFI “RaidDriver” 17.8.2.4464 ?

No not yet, atleast i have not seen it.

@Santa2017 :
There is no reason to bother Pacman with such questions. As soon as he gets access to a new Intel RAID BIOS module, he will publish it here automaticly (without a need of reminding him).
By the way: The new version would be v17.8.2.4684.

Thank you for advise. Cheerful all.

new: OROM Intel VROC for sata v6.3.0.1005
new: EFI Intel VROC for sata v6.3.0.1005

+ lots of other new file versions !

is in this MB bios file:

https://www.supermicro.com/about/policie…areItemID=11548

Can you properly extract these files for us to use ?

Thanks,

Biozzz

@biozzz You might do it yourself- just use UBU, there’s an option ‘share’ which saves these files in a folder ‘extracted’… (But you’s have to have one other option file in the corresponding directory, otherwise this options isn’t visible. While ubu runs/ is open the files are placed in the tmp folder.)

Update of the start post

  • new: “pure” Intel RSTe EFI SATA RaidDriver v6.3.0.1005 for DEV_2826 (without header)

Note: Thanks to frwil for the module file and to biozzz for the source BIOS.

Good luck!

Check for the matching VROC for VMD v6.3 module. In consumer boards it is this module that is used and not the RSTe / VROC for SATA module.
