Thanks once again!
Only if you could take a look at here, see if you can help. I don’t quite understand the 2nd point. I need to see which OROM the bios file has and download the .bsf file for it?
If you can take a look, i’d appreciate it.
Thanks.
EDIT:
SoniX helped me out, i’m glad that he sorted it out!
So what RST version do you recommend at this time? Currently on 14.0.0.1081 Beta on my X99 system with raid 0…
I experienced the same freezes with the 14. whql and the two 14.5 betas.
@ PhatAgent:
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
Since I never have used an Intel X79 or X99 Chipset system, I cannot answer this question on the basis of own experience.
What about the Intel RST(e) Driver v13.1.0.1058?
Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)
Currently on 14.0.0.1095 with no issues. Was just wondering if there was a newer version that you’ve not had any issues with. It seems the same issues with the 14.5s and 14whql are affecting ALL platforms, be it Z97 or X99
Meh, any newer driver than 14.0.0.1095 causes hangs and system corruption on my Raid 0 Z77 with latest 14 OROM…
Intel RST v14.5.0.1081 PV

Note: This is the Production Version of the 14.5.0.1081 driver with a date of June 25th 2015. It’s newer than than the beta one currently posted.
@ all:
Update of the start post
Changelog:
- new: 32/64bit Intel RST(e) drivers v14.5.0.1081 WHQL dated 06/22/2015 (shown as being dated 06/03/2015)
- new: Intel RST(e) Drivers & Software Set v14.5.0.1081 WHQL dated 06/25/2015
Notes:
- The included AHCI/RAID drivers are WHQL certified by Microsoft and usable with all Windows Operating Systems from Win7 up.
- Only Intel 8-, 9-, X99 and the upcoming 100-Series Chipsets are natively fully supported by these drivers.
- Thanks to plutomaniac for having published the source package.
- Due to the induced instability and system freezings I do not recommend to install these v14.5 drivers onto any Intel RAID system (except Intel X99 and or 100-Series Chipsets).
Good luck with these Intel AHCI and RAID drivers!

I wonder if this new v14.5.0.1081 set will also freeze the system on the X99 platform when in RAID 0 just like the previously released v14.x RST drivers.
I will be testing this new RST driver set out later on.
I have just tested the new v14.5.0.1081 RST driver set and unfortunately these freeze the system on the X99 platform when in RAID 0 just like the previous releases.
I wonder what the hell Intel are playing at with the v14.x RST driver sets.
14.5.0.1081 on X99 (non-raid) still haves an issue that prevents the hdd’s to spin down on idle. Looks like the only stable driver to x99 is the old 13.1.0.1058
I’ve tested RAID 1 with iRST OROM 14.5.0.2241 & iRST driver 14.5.0.1081 (z87) and found no issues with performance, data or rebuild. I’ve not tested spin down or idle.

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
For Intel 7-Series Chipset systems running in AHCI mode I recommend to take the Intel RST(e) driver v13.1.0.1058 WHQL.
Enjoy the performance of your updated system!

Hello, sir.
Thanks for replying my post
Do you think the latest driver available on intel website which is the 13.6 from 2013 is the best one for me?
Thank you!!
Kind Regards,
Queiroz
All these newer drivers are designed for Intel 8- and 9-Series Chipsets and natively do not support Intel 7-Series Chipsets.
Hello All

My system is Win 8.1 Enterprise x64 Edition and my actually used iRST are 13.1.0.1058 WHQL - which driver is better 13.1.0.1058 WHQL vs. 12.8.20.1002 WHQL ? I mean performance. My SSD is Samsung 850 PRO 120GB + Z77 MSI Mpower. Ty much for all yours answers
Thanks for the info!
As long as nobody with an Intel Z77 Chipset AHCI system has tested and compared them both, you will not get an answer.
I personally cannot do the required tests, because I gave my Z77 system away some months ago.
Why don’t you compare both drivers yourself?

Hi!
Im on a old motherboard P67 (Asus p8p67 pro rev 3.1) i have been using the latest supporting RST for p67 “v12.9.4.1000” now we have this new version “v12.8.20.1002” but is it really newer? The date on v12.9 is 2014-04-07 vs v12.8 2015-05-22.
Im not sure if i should go with the 12.9 or 12.8?
Thanks.
