Hello everyone,
I’m dealing with a reproducible TPM/PTT initialization issue on an Alder Lake laptop (MSI Modern 14 H D13MG, BIOS E14L1IMS.70F and earlier).
Summary of the issue
-
On cold boot, BIOS shows: NO Security Device Found
-
On immediate reboot, BIOS shows: TPM 2.0 Device Found (INTC)
-
Windows loads TPM normally after the second boot
-
Issue persists across all BIOS versions (70F, 70E, 70D, 70C, 70B)
What I’ve already tested
-
Multiple BIOS versions (incremental rollback)
-
Full NVRAM reset (main battery removed, CMOS removed, power discharged)
-
EC reset
-
Clean Windows install
-
Secure Boot ON/OFF
-
Fast Boot ON/OFF
-
UEFI‑only mode
-
TPM Clear
-
MEI driver reinstall
-
No BitLocker
-
No OS‑level TPM provisioning issues
ME firmware checks
-
MEInfo shows ME in Normal mode
-
MEManuf passes all tests (22/22)
-
ME firmware version does not change when rolling back BIOS
Behavior pattern
This only happens on cold boot. Once the system has powered on once, TPM/PTT initializes correctly on every subsequent reboot.
Looking for guidance/solution. I have tried MSI support too and they were not helpful at all. I dont have any direction.

I have attached the following screenshot to help begin the investigation. Let me know what can I supply?
- Bios’ image showing TPM not found on cold boot, then I do a reboot and TPM appears.
