Is it possible to disable INTEL RST/VMD via BIOS modding?

is it possible to disabable INTEL RST / VMD acer predator via bios modding?

Edit by Fernando: Since your question may be valid for all modern Intel chipset mainboards, I have customized the thread title.

@alfredposadas09 Welcome to the Win-Raid Forum!
Why do you want to disable the on-board Intel SATA AHCI/RAID/VMD Controllers?
You may not be able to use the SATA ports.

cpu has a problem… when i install cpu driver i get blue screen of death “driver power state failure” … i want to install linux ubuntu in this laptop but i cant because it is said the intel irst is enable… when i visit the bios there is no option to disable the IRST…

  1. To which port is your system drive connected and which OS is running?
  2. Please attach the currently used BIOS or give us a link to it.

This picture shows the Disk Controller EFI module content of your BIOS:
Removal Intel RST EFI Module

As you can see here, the related Intel RST VMD module has the version 17.8.0.4507:

After having deleted the module you may not be able to get access to the data of your SATA connected disk drives.
I do not recommend to try it!
