One question: is it possible to extract an old microcode (version 7) and bring it in a new bios file?
We have a asus B85m-g, and the newer bios files are Cap files. I cant downgrade to an older bios (no usb flashback), but with newer cpu microcodes iam not able to overclock my xeon 1230v3 to allcore 3.7ghz…only 3.5ghz possible 
With the older microcode that was in the first release bios it was possible to overcklock it to 3.7Ghz, but those bios is faulty (Sata Controller not working)
Can you here do anything?
Use UBU on the latest ASUS bios (no matter if it has an AMI Capsule header) and you can select whatever microcode you want
