Yesterday, i updated the bios of my laptop lenovo helix (type 3701) from windows. After successfully installation i couldn’t get in to the bios and it was just black cursor blinking screen. Except that everything was ok. Later i decided to downgrade to the older version bios to get rid of BS. This time after bios install preperation, pc rebooted, screen was black for 15-20 min and fan was full throttle. I know I shouldn’t interrupt the process, but somethings was wrong and i shut it down after 20min. I corupted the bios i guess. After connect the battery, when i push the power button fan rotates for 1 sec and stops. Then Power button reacts to nothing.
So, i really need your advices. What is my best solution. Thank you. (I have ordered SOP8 clip and CH341A. Package will arrive in 2-3 days i hope. )
By the way, my friend has exact same model(cpu,ram,hdd,pcie cards etc) fully working. Maybe could be part of solution.

Dump BIOS once programmer arrives, then WAIT for someone to check/confirm you have a good dump. This way you know your system specific details are preserved, AND you know you can read/write properly to the chip.
If you erase or write before that you may loose all this info, and make it MUCH harder to fix later.

What is your BIOS chip ID? This way I can maybe suggest which software version to use, or if you need to use other software than included in that package.

Please tell me the older BIOS version you wanted to use instead too.
The issue you mention at the start is simply a BIOS setting you needed to change, and you would get there from within windows advanced recovery method (Recovery >> Advanced Startup > Then on reboot choose troubleshoot >> Advanced >> UEFI

This can be changed back to how the old BIOS acted for you by changing windows “Fast Boot” options once you are in BIOS
And changing BIOS Boot/Windows mode from UEFI to legacy (not UEFI) - it depends on your BIOS/settings etc, I’d have to look

I think before everything my bios was 1.35(GFET56WW) 1.24(GFHT47WW) - gfuj20us.exe
I tried to update latest 1.44(GFET65WW) 1.25(GFHT48WW) gfuj28us.exe
Bios version 1.35 or latest, doesn’t matter. I hope data corruption is minimum. Thank you so much.
I have a couple of questions:
1- Which chip is Main Bios and which chip is EC Bios? (MX25L3206E-MX25L6406E)
2- Which chip has the unique info like serial number, uuid etc? So i hope can transfer them.
3- I can see inside of the MX25L3206E chip with UEFITool but i can’t see the MX25L6406E chip. Is it normal?
4- Which tutorials i need to read for getting unique info from chip dump? I guess there will be a lot hex edit.

Please upload both dumps in one zip, thanks! Larger chip would usually be the BIOS, but sometimes BIOS is split across both chips, which it sounds like may be true for your system since you can open small one in UEFITool but not large one.
Sorry, I don’t know any guides about inspecting for system specific data. You can use UEFITool NE Alpha to inspect, right click each module and read in hex one by one is how I do it.

Last two updates have very different size FL2 files. Maybe v1.43 more usable then other.
