Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 9 - fully shutdown doesn't work

hi guys,

i’ve a problem with a Lenovo X1C9. When I shutdown the system, screen became black but the FAN and leds on keyboard remains on. Only way to power off is to force it by pushing the pwr button.

looking at these outputs everything seems good. If i’m swapping the SSD with another one with clean Windows installation this issue doesn’t occur. I don’t have any other solution at the moment, only restart the laptop and power off when bios appears to avoid filesystem corruption.

Any help will be really appreciated.

I would say that this could be just a settings error / discrepancy, I had some similar issues on both my pc and my X1C Gen 3

What you should check out :
Power management in windows, check if sleep is enabled, etc…

Check task manager if there

(lol fuck you forum manager program that cut down half of my message when publishing)

is any junkware that could keep it awake, kill anything that’s not strictly neccessary and try again.

From what I’ve read I think it is a system configuration fail, said that the new install of win works fine.

  Looks like the shutdown of Windows doesn’t send some commands to the ME Interface
  
  The OS is fully shutdown, because on the Event logs I don’t find anything about wrong shutdown
  
  Another thing that I don’t know if it’s good or not. If i’m open the ME Interface from Device Manager, in the firmware tab i’ve only the version. The other two fields are “Unknown”, is it right?

As its reported all ok in a clean OS… i think you can start here as your problem.
This doesnt look an ME issue and its not a common ME issue also, its more likely to be OS corruption, hd issue, driver version issue.
Its common the "Unknown" ME in Windows tab driver.
