thanks; gonna try
i updated bios 0714 with latest raid orom, satadriver and gopdriver, but still no trim
My opinion: Neither the Intel RAID ROM resp SataDriver nor the Intel RAID driver version, but the Sandforce Controller of your Corsair Force GT SSDs are responsable for the failure of the TRIM tests done with your Z87 RAID0 system.
The only question is, if they really donāt let the TRIM commands into the SSDs or if the TRIM activity cannot be detected by the usual methods (TRIMCheck Tool or manual Hex Editor test).
On my previous system trim worked with those same Sandforce drives!
(m4e-z; rst 12.x driver and orom; win 8)
My tip: Contact the ASUS, Intel and Corsair Support. One of these Companies should be able to solve your problem.
Maybe you need just an updated mainboard BIOS, a new RAID ROM/SataDriver module or a better Sandforce Controller Firmware.
support tickets at Asus and Corsair have been made; Intel: donāt have a good link
Official reply from Asus:
Our R & D Department looked at this and they state that we can ensure the TRIM is enabled and should work. For any question about how TRIM works you should contact Microsoft.
Itās bullshit but i leave it for now.
i ordered a second Samsung 840 Pro 256Gb, so i can build a raid-0 of those ssdāsā¦
cheers,
Jerome.
It will be interesting to see, if TRIM in RAID0 will work for you with these SSDs.
Does it work with Z77 ?
Yes, TRIM works within my RAID0 with all Intel RST(e) driver versions except v12.5.0.1066.
I will let you known as soon as i configured my pc.
Will be in a few days.
Jerome
Bye the way, what stripe-size do you use?
64K
Thanks; will use that in my first setup.
Jerome
With raid-0 of two Samsung 840 Proās trim works on Z87 !!!
That is what I expected. Your TRIM problem obviously has been caused by the Sandforce Controllers of your RAIDed SSDs.
As you predictedā¦ Master lol
I check on a single Sandforce drive (non raided) and guess what: trim also does not work.
Those guys really have a problem!
Cheers
Jerome
Corsair has acknowledged the problem with their Force GT ssdās regarding Z87 chipset:
"ā¦Our team is currently working on this issue. It does look like a bug and most likely new firmware is needed to address this issueā¦"
"ā¦The next firmware update will be posted on our forums first:
www.ramguy.comā¦"
cheers,
Jerome.
