I realize this is not an AHCI/RAID issue (which this wonderful board specializes in) but I was hoping someone might shed light on this driver. in my quest to find the best driver for this, I went to station-drivers.com. The driver included with the EVGA DARK is version 9.0.0.1209. Station drivers has v_9.0.10.1372. My OS is Win7 pro 64 bit SP1 with all the updates. I ran the MEInfoWin64 tool from the station drivers package and got this result:

So does anyone know where on Intel’s site these drivers hide? it seems most downloads for the MEI are for Intel boards only.

When you try and search the intel support form for Chipset>Software there is nothing for our chipset on the dark

Intel only supports their motherboards, it’s up to your mobo MFG to supply the drivers. The MEI driver is only for the version installed per chipset, they are not the same.
You have the newest driver listed on your mobo website for the X79.
Look at the drivers page on station, you will see that this driver is only for the (B77/H77/Z77/H87/Z87/H81, as an example.
