Marvel 88se9230 drivers that support Opal commands

Hi!

Im curretly have marvel 8230 controller with 1.2.0.1035 drivers with windows 7.

BIOS Version 1.0.0.1018
Firmware Version 2.3.0.1053
Boot Loader Version 2.1.0.1006
Driver Version 1.2.0.1035

This configuration is not passing OPAL commands to SSD drive. (Samsung 850 Pro).

Do you know which driver/bios is passing opal commands to SSD drive ? I think it is windows marvel driver related bug, as unlocking Opal encrypted drive is working using Linux native driver.

sedutil-cli --scan

Scanning for Opal compliant disks
.\PhysicalDrive0 No
.\PhysicalDrive1 No
.\PhysicalDrive2 No
No more disks present ending scan

sedutil-cli --query .\PHYSICALDRIVE1

23:34:46.000 ERR : Invalid or unsupported disk .\PHYSICALDRIVE1

.\PHYSICALDRIVE1 - is my samsung

Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256G SCSI Disk Device .\PHYSICALDRIVE1 SCSI\DISK&VEN_SAMSUNG&PROD_SSD_850_PRO_256G\5&E93270A&2&000000

if I connect my Samsung directly to Sata2 ports on my motherboard( asus p6t se) ICH10R (11.2.0.1006 Inter RST) as nonconfigured Raid device, Opal commands are passing through

Do you have any experience which Marvell 88se8230 driver is passing OPAL commands to SSD drive ?

Is this feature labelled as "AES Crypto" or related to it, by any chance? I have seen in some old changelogs that they disabled it in both drivers and firmwares, although that was for 91xx. Still, there is a Marvell tool for toggling some of the options (including AES, RAID and HyperDuo), just not sure if it has any effect or if it is safe to use.

@lordkag
maybe yes, maybe no… "AES crypto" its probably AES onfly encryption on Marvell chipset this can be different thing than OPAL support I think. Do you know what is the name of this tool to enable this options ? (including AES, RAID and HyperDuo),
