I seem to have a problem with the ME on a B360 mobo:

the currently flashed BIOS version is 2411 and the currently flashed ME version is 12.0.24.1314.
I tried to update the ME to version 12.0.35.1427, but something seems to be wrong.
updating the ME in the past worked fine, but now, when I try to run the FWUpdLcl tool, I get this:
Error 63: Unknown or unsupported hardware platform.
when I try to run the MEInfo tool, I get this:
Error 20: Cannot locate ME device.
FPTW -d SPI.bin works fine though, dump can be downloaded here:

any help to fix this would be appreciated.

Hello,
Your CSME firmware File System is corrupted. You need to make sure that you have read/write access to the Engine region of the SPI/BIOS chip via [Guide] Unlock Intel Flash Descriptor Read/Write Access Permissions for SPI Servicing and then follow [Guide] Clean Dumped Intel Engine (CS)ME/(CS)TXE Regions with Data Initialization .
I don’t really know what happened, but everything is working again.
I started reading through the guides and decided to dig into it later.
then I did an upgrade of the windows installation on the problematic PC, upgrading windows 10 from 1709 to 1809.
after that, to my surprise, the access to the ME was working again, and I don’t know why.
before the windows upgrade, the ME driver was stuck at some version 0.0.0.1 and I could not update it.
after the windows upgrade the ME driver was automatically updated to 1904.x and I could upgrade the ME to version 12.0.35.1427 with no problems.
after the ME upgrade FPTW -greset worked fine and MEInfo also works again.

Not related to Windows. It is possible that the CSE can recover its File System from very mild corruption, not sure. To view the actual CSE state you’ll need to run MEInfo with “-fwsts” parameter.

so, does this look right?
only other thing I can think of is, I cleared the secure boot keys after the windows upgrade. not sure if this could have contributed to the fix of the ME.

Everything looks perfect, you’re good to go. No matter how it happened, the good news is that you dodged a bullet by not having to deal with CSME firmware recovery.
