Here we are, with another big question mark. Where is the camera driver? Asus does not have this driver, and the support seems unable to find it (is this possible???). The driver itself seems not available on internet, even with the vendor id. Of course I’m on Windows 10.
The webcam producer, thanks to the vendor id, seems to be Chicony Electronic. USB\VID_04F2&PID_B57A&MI_00
I turned upside down the web, installed some drivers from chicony, but no luck. If someone can help me with this driver, it would be very nice
Thanks!
@Fiox89 :
You should better ask the ASUS Support than us.
All we can do is a Google search by entering the HardwareIDs, but this can be done by yourself as well.
Hi Fernando. This is what I’ve done twice and all I’ve been told is to use the windows restore option to restore the operating system. I have already searched for this driver, but I could not find it. I’m just trying to figure out what’s wrong with this device, maybe the hardware ID does not match?
It’s installed, without error (yellow bang), what’s the issue? If you are simply unable to start the camera, I always found Asus laptop cam hard to find start exe, let me look around here on some laptops we have and see if I can tell you where to maybe look for the exe to start it if this is the problem.
Do you have ATK package installed?
Aside from that, if the driver is incorrect, I found all this, maybe some will help?
I found this, very confusing since it says no drivers need for ZN550 series (assume N580 similar is why I checked it), and it says no drivers needed for that series, and then proceeds to give you incorrect info/method on how to find this unnecessary driver via using the PID?
I tried searching their site with PID value from your image, of course that is a futile way to search so I’m not sure that their guide thinks it’s showing you how to do!

Only adding in case that helps somehow?
I also found this page, with possibly more device info for VID_04F2&PID_B57A, maybe some of the details there can help someone locate a driver for you?

I also found this page

That links to these 214MB package of drivers bundled, maybe one in there can help?

Ehy Lost_N_BIOS, thanks for your help. The device is recognized, but the camera does not start with any app.
ATK package installed. The camera driver used is the generic Microsoft, but does not seem to work properly.
I’m still trying any possible driver, but without success, and the assistance keeps telling me to do a restore. Is not ridiculous?
I agree, it’s crazy! Do you know how to browse the hidden restore image partition? You can probably find the right driver/app there. Was it working when you got it? If yes, what happened that made it quit?
