MSI GS63VR-7RG help me fix my bios.

Hi,

A few months ago, strange things started happening with my laptop:

  • flickering screen both on the desktop and in games
  • the FN key stopped working
  • the laptop didn’t always boot

I tried reinstalling drivers and Windows, but unfortunately, it didn’t help. I decided to reinstall the BIOS downloaded from the MSI website, following the instructions there.
Unfortunately, during installation, the laptop froze. I waited for about 12 hours, but the process didn’t complete successfully. I tried to boot it up again; the fans started, but the screen remained black.

I decided to extract the BIOS dump from the chip on the motherboard using a programmer EZP2019 and load a clean version using the programmer. The operation was successful, and the laptop boots up correctly. However, the DMI keys are missing in the BIOS.
I tried reading the DMI from the extracted dump using UEFITool and injecting it into the clean BIOS dump using HxD, but sections such as model, serial number, and marketing name still do not show up in the BIOS.

If I sent the extracted BIOS dump from the memory chip, could someone prepare a working BIOS file for me to flash?

The initial BIOS version installed: E16K3IMS.116
EC: 16K3EMS1.104

Thank you very much for your help!

You better share the files (original dumps) for further investigation, you may choose a sharing service provider of your choice (New users still can’t attach on this forum, RULES to read…)
Also attach also any labels/info on chassis.
The info usually is on 1st and 2nd pad in bios_region.

What was the result PM with SVET on MSI Forum

Sorry for starting this thread unnecessarily.
I didn’t notice Svet response on the MSI forum. Currently, I’m in constant contact with him.
If the attempt to fix the issue doesn’t work, I’ll bring up the topic here again.

Issue fixed by Svet.
