@ig0186 :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
Regarding the thread title please have a look into the “Welcome” box, which is on the Portal site.
Good luck regarding your request for help. I have no doubt, that you will need it.
Regards
Dieter (alias Fernando)

Thank you fernando.

I don’t give up my bios update…

@ig0186 - So you already modified BIOS, check this method to flash (Method B AFUWin try first) - [Guide] How to flash a modded AMI UEFI BIOS
You will have to put BIOS body back into capsule, notice mod BIOS is 2KB smaller than stock BIOS. This done easiest by hex for this specific BIOS.
Open stock BIOS in hex, and your mod BIOS, copy entire mod BIOS. On stock BIOS go to 800h, paste mod BIOS (or select all 800h to end (800000), then paste) If you need this done let me know I will upload for you.
Then first try flashing with BIOS built in EZ Flash tool, if that gives security error use methods linked above

Thank you!

How to fix mod bios in hex!!!

change my bios file!

A little while. I can test it!

Ez flash fail…

Yes, that is almost always the case, modified BIOS can usually only be flashed using certain methods, I linked them for you above.
If “Method B” I mentioned does not work, look directly above “Guides for Asus Mainboard” and see links to SoniX’s guide or link to my guide for this. If you use my guide, pay attention to the warning in red, it’s 100% required or you will loose board details.

all fail…

/gan commend not found…

not work apito v series

my laptop is no answer…

@ig0186 - /GAN only work with certain AFU versions, if this is Intel based system (Intel CPU) best method is my guide as I mentioned, here is direct link
[GUIDE] Grub Fix Intel FPT Error 368 - BIOS Lock Asus/Other Mod BIOS Flash

If AMD, try this method instead
https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/592…r-motherboards/

If AMD, try this method instead

Not Work.

1. Origin file flash succes

2. Mod file flash /GAN Succes

But Update Fail.

I need another way to install the Bypass Update.

Did you use the AFU attached in that thread?

You may have to purchase CH341A flash programmer + SOIC8 test clip cable (each only $2.50 on ebay)

Did you try AI Suite and AI Suite II method, no luck?

I use AFU attached.

AI Suite and AI Suite II not work.

I’m very unlucky…

and I use laptop…;;

Then all options tried, you only have left CH341A programmer and SOIC8 test clip cable, you will have to open the bottom of the laptop up to use those.

That, or contact Asus and ask them for proper BIOS update.

@Lost_N_BIOS I tried flashing the bios to spi chip directly after modifying the dumped bios file with UBU v1.71.1 but the laptop did not boot :frowning:
Any ideas?? Here is the modified bios http://www.mediafire.com/file/se0eiz5tyi6ljg5/x505.zip with stock too

@nonid - I have no clue what’s going on there, you don’t have earlier post in this thread?? Was that reply meant to be on another thread? If yes, please link me to it and I will move your reply and this one.
In general, how are you dumping this BIOS you then modified with UBU? If dumped via FPT and you did not unlock FD first and dump entire BIOS, then you likely only dumped the BIOS region, which you can’t program back with programmer (In easy, usual manner).

If you are not using programmer, then OK. Please explain in full detail what you did, how you dumped BIOS and what part of the BIOS that is, and how you flashed it back to the board. Also, what did you update with UBU?
Since you are working on a dumped BIOS, I don’t need to see stock BIOS, I need to see your original untouched dump and mod that failed. Please upload your untouched dump so I can compare to mod BIOS.

* Checked what you provided, looks like either a bad mod, or bad dump originally that you modified? It’s missing 15 BIOS modules in last volume and the entire VTF module.
Probably a bad dump originally, how are you dumping, what software version are you using and what is your CHIP ID if using programmer?
I also only see stock NVRAM inside your mod BIOS, which does not look like it came from a “Dump”, unless that dump was from a stock BIOS programmed to the board previously, which is not ideal either.
