Need help moding my bios (asus Laptop FX516PM )

hey , i recently started learing Bios flashing and moding on my laptop asus tuf FX516PM , i did hours of research i dumped my bios file with FPTW64 i changed the setting that i want to unlock in user mode ( i did a save ofc ) but when i tried to do the commend FPTW64 -bios -f etc… but i always get error 167 Protected Range Registers…FPT Operation Failed, so i tried disabling my bios and FRR with GRUB, and RU.EFI but i still have the same error i did again some research for hours but am still stuck so if you guys can help me fix my problem ill be really gratefull (here is btw my a rar containing my setup extr extracted with ifr , and my original bios , my dumped bios , and modifed bios) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tuCb5LrDbzeWMuMQHTSDBE_UWxP1gCSr/view?usp=sharing

If it was done with AMIBCP, then system would now be death.
When FD cant be changed to access regions, a cheap SPi programmer is the alternative route…

I only tested like opening my dumped BIOS with AMIBCP and made some changes, but I haven’t flashed it yet. So my system is still fine ? Thanks btw for the warning about the risks sir

Sure… no flash mod was done.
AMIBCP tool is old and not for current/modern Aptio V Core bios files, as it cannot handle correctly the modifications in AMI modules…still can be handy for inspection only.
Alternative tool is UEFI Editor

Your backup is only a Bios_region… a poor safe keep solution when the system gets “death” after “playing” with it…mods.
FPT can only do full (32Mb) SPI backup when FD access allows it, that’s why a SPI programmer is a life saviour…

so now the only way for me is to use a a spi programmer like CH341A ?

What kind of question is that??? After all that was stated, you were about to kill the system, no decent backups and tools to recover it and can’t use Intel FPT… not clear enough for you or is my English so badly written?

here by default Flash Protection Range Registers disabled, you only need to disable Bios Lock. if it still doesn’t work, use ch341a and replace the Bios Region with the one i provided.
