[Need Help, SOLVED] How to Modify a Samsung B75S1 MB BIOS?

Hello everyone,

I’m currently working with a Samsung B75S1 motherboard that has a RAM limitation of 8GB, but I’d like to increase this to 16GB. I’m seeking guidance on the best way to achieve this, as well as how to unlock hidden BIOS settings.

  1. Modifying BIOS with AMI BCP:
I’m considering using AMI BCP to modify the BIOS, but I’m not sure where to locate or change the value that controls the RAM size limitation. It’s an AMI Aptio BIOS, and I would appreciate any advice on finding this setting and adjusting it safely.

  2. Flashing the Modded BIOS:
After making the changes, I’m unsure how to properly flash the modded BIOS onto this motherboard. If anyone has experience flashing modded BIOS on the Samsung B75S1 or a similar board, I’d love to hear your process and any precautions to take.

  3. Unlocking Hidden ‘Advanced’ Settings:
I’ve noticed that certain advanced settings are hidden in the BIOS. I’d like to unlock these hidden settings (mostly pcie settings etc.). Does anyone have experience unlocking these advanced settings in AMI Aptio BIOS? Any guidance on what tools and methods are most effective for this would be really helpful.

  4. Alternative Method: Using Modified GRUB Shell:
I’ve also read about the method of using a modified GRUB shell (similar to the CFG Lock fix in OpenCore) to temporarily make changes to BIOS settings without flashing. However, I’m not sure which values or parameters control the RAM limitation or hidden settings in this case. If someone has experience using this method to temporarily unlock features or bypass limitations, I’d appreciate any tips on what values to modify and how to apply them.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
EDIT : I changed the value of “Above 4G Decoding” to “Enable” and also checked the memory remap option, changing also the value Enable/Disable using modGRUBShell. Now, it recognizes 16GB of the installed RAM. Note: this is only a temporary solution, as removing the CMOS battery and restoring the BIOS to default settings will revert it back to the original values.
