Hi, my laptop is ASUS UX31A TOUCH. When I was updating bios, power is dropped, and then, laptop can not be booted. The keyboard’s light turns on, but the screen remains dark. So, I bought CH341A and could save my brocken bios file. However I could not open that file with FD44Editor_0.9.2, It just shows below fatal error. -------------------------------------------------- error parsing bios data bootefi signature not found. please open correct ASUS BIOS file. -------------------------------------------------- After all, I could not confirm the information of it or modify bios rom file. What can I do? Can someone please help me? I need this laptop for study. Please help me. Please~! I uploaded my broken bios → damaged ux31a touch bios.bin This is BIOS FILE from the ASUS homepage. → UX31AAS.216

I will try to reconstruct a valid bios file for you mate, but you need to wait few hours as I’m working now but I promise that I will attach a new valid bios file in the afternoon (7:21 a.m. here).

@Kanaria Hi, here is your fixed (I hope it) bios. Let me know if it works, if doesn’t I’ll try a different way.

I tested it, it works. But the keyboard does not light up. Would you please try it again? I am sorry. I have a bios file of ux31a but not touch version too. If you need it, I can upload it.

I uploaded working bios file which is ux31a non touch above(I got it by internet searching). I am so sorry to ask for troublesome things

Is Touch BIOS different from non-touch BIOS? I thought that was the same. The BIOS you first uploaded worked but the light on the keyboard did not light up. I really appreciate what you did for me. Thank you. I will try it and tell you.

Thank you for linking the video. I already know about that. The content of that movie is about ATKPackage? I think it’s a problem with the driver after booting the windows. I tried new bios which you uploaded, but the keyboard light didn’t turn on. Previously, as soon as I pushed the power button, I got the keyboard light. but now, I don’t get the keyboard light when I push the power botton, and after the boot of Windows, the keyboard light does not work, too.(I’ve already set up the ATKPackage.) I think that touch BIOS and non-touch BIOS are the same, so can you try again with a non-touch BIOS that works normally? I really sorry that I bothered so many times. T.T

I changed the BIOS to this file., but still the light of the keyboard did not light up. Maybe, I have to be satisfied with the fact that the laptop has started to work. I truly appreciate from the heart that you took time to do it for me so many times. I think you are a really nice person. Thank you very much. Than you!!

Thank you for your fast reply. I tried all of that link. Wow, it worked! I found that I have to type this in the command line —> Bt –c cnfg /w dd 7c I am very glad to have my backlight back. Thank you so much! Oh my god!!! Thank you! By the way, how could you fix the bios rom file? When I try to open the bios file by Intel Flash Image Tool and FD44Editor, I just got the error message. What kind of program do you use? What do I have to do to open the bios file properly? I want to use it by myself.

I’ve used Intel Flash Image Tool V8.1 (which is needed for H76 chipset) and I’ve replaced both the bios and me region and built image bios file again. That’s it. FD44Editor is suitable only for Asus bios motherboards of pc desktop.
