Hi guys, I’m the owner of a laptop of the Xps17 L702X, Dell will not release a bios update to mitigate the vulnerabilities Meltdown and Spectre, would it be possible to integrate updated microcodes directly in the bios? (Phoenix secure core tiano setup) The CPU is a Core i7 2820QM (Sandy Bridge) can you help me?
Of course I know that there are no patches for Sandy Bridge, but updating the microcodes to the latest version can be a training for when the final patch will be released!
Thank You!
Wrong checksum…high risk of brick
anyway i’ve already updated correctly the microcodes with antispectre
Where is antispectre??
is the microcode 0x2d what system do you have?
I have been already update microcode 0x2d, so checksum is changed.
It’s normal a change of checksum because the lenght of a region changes. But checksum must be fixed before flashing…otherwise brick! Do you have xps17?
No, maybe you can disable checksum checking in the WINFLASH.INI
I have corrected successfully checksum!
