Was able to install Windows 7 ULTIMATE on my 8th gen 8950KH system
Got nearly all the drivers up and running
The only major issue is the 3D isn’t working

I was able to get all of the USB and misc drivers working as well except for thunderbolt
because of this it can’t play a video (youtube is fine though)
Your uhd driver seems to not be compatible with your integrated gpu. Or you can try this modification: Way to make Intel UHD 620 graphics driver to works in windows 7 (no crash) - VideoHelp Forum
I had to do this for my uhd 620 too. You can’t play videos because the player defaults to integrated uhd card for acceleration, even if you have nvidia card running. You could try in the settings of the player or in the nvidia settings to use acceleration of nvidia globally or only for the player you use.
As for the thunderbolt is that USB-C connector? I also have an USB-C that I couldn’t make it work on my laptop. It belongs to the UCM UCSI device class that only exists in Win10, so it can’twork on 7. Can you give me the device id for your thunderbolt from device manager?
I tried extracting the drivers from windows 11 on the UCM UCSI but only ended up with an error code most likely if someone is good at it they might be able to back port them like the other USB driver

with the UHD 630 driver I got it working with a modded “signed driver” this worked on my 8950HK chip

I have the same Device ID, I tried to make it work, but never succeded. I don’t think the device class can be ported, so unfortunately this will probably never work on Win7.

just put it on my gmail drive instead… most likely it’s missing some files is what i’m thinking which is why it says “The install class is not present or is invalid.” assuming something is missing maybe registry setting or something
did a registry snap shot these are the modified registry files when reinstalling the default Microsoft USB C drivers on windows 11
this might be the key missing link to getting it working on windows 7 64bits

I took a look and searched the internet for more info, but sadly I couldn’t find anything about it. I have no idea how this device class can be ported to Windows 7, maybe it’s not even possible at all. I guess you already tried to export those registry modifications from Windows 10 and merge them in your Windows 7 to no avail…
i haven’t tried that apparently the registry keys need ‘permissions’ i got tired since it’s nested
I want to ask you something about the graphic cards. You have an integrated and dedicated graphic card, right? So it does switch automatically from the integrated to the dedicated when needed and according to the nvidia settings, right?
I also have a Intel UHD 620 + GTX 1050 setup. I have functional drivers, but I have issues when using dedicated GPU. Sometimes I get black screen and then I have to force shut down my laptop. Sometimes dedicated GPU is not available anymore until reboot, it even disapprears from device manager. I constantly have issues that after a few minutes of dedicated video processing, the dedicated GPU usage goes down for a few minutes, the integrated GPU gets used, fps drops and this cycle repeats itself. I tried more than 20 version of Windows 7 drivers for the NVIDIA, it seems older drivers are a bit more stable, but still the GPU processing goes suddenly from de dedicated to the intergrated. I thought it might be overheating, but testing the same situation in Windows 10 shows the same temperatures and steady dedicated gpu processing. I thing it’s a driver issue, but is that the intergrated or the dedicated card’s driver that is the issue… Have you encountered this also? Or have you got any idea where I should begin?
Which driver versions do you use for both the integrated gpu (UHD 630?) and dedicated gpu (NVIDIA 1080 max Q?)? Maybe I can try them on my machine.
