[Offer] ASUS CrossHair V Formula Z MOD bios 2201

Darn early info, looks like they said 1.2 was an error, and it’s officially back to 2.0 TPM from what I’m seeing…

I think that the way they’re going about it, that it is turning into a corporate money grab. Microsoft is pulling a scam on us.

Hopefully there are more updates here if anything becomes available.

Bios updated to v17

Changelog:

[Updated] - UEFI x64 PCI-E gigabit driver v9.4.06 -----> v9.5.05

>ASUS-Crosshair-V-Formula-Z-2201 MOD v17 (2021-08-07)<

I’m trying to download this. Windows 11 fails it with ‘Virus Detected’ Threat Level Severe.

It is absolutely Windows 11 causing the false virus warning. After downloading and scanning with Defender it showed it was fine. I guess they need to iron out a few bugs.

@MailmanMike

I tested by downloading it right now and i got no problems with it at all. My antivirus didn’t pop out and i also got one step further and verified the files for any unwanted modifications on the server (like bad upload to the server) or any corruptions but everything was good.

Take note that i am on Windows 10 and my antivirus is Kapersky so if you are with Defender on Windows 11 then it can only be an error from it and be a false positive. I suspect Microsoft wants so much Windows 11 to be considered the “safest Windows ever produced” that even Defender will start being very restrictive of everything and do a lot more of blocking for nothing. Time will tell if my guess is right…

@Phoenix48

Just to be clear, and forgive me if this is redundant: Is v17 just what the log says - a Gigabit driver update. Or does this enable our Formula-Z setups with your v17 bios allow it to be used with Win 11?

Thx,
Dave

@StillFXer

v17 is just what the log says: A LAN module update. Unfortunately, only Microsoft can change their hardwares requirements for Windows 11 and there is nothing i can do to the Bios to help with that.

Are there any updated bios modules for the Samsung/basic NVME drives? Thank you for replying when you are able.

@MailmanMike

No and i don’t think there will ever be any new update in the future for the Samsung NVME module. The reason why is explained in this post.

Thank you for the swift reply.

I have read this whole post and followed everything down to the T, and for some reason the BIOS refuse to install! I’m on the verge of giving up, I tried Bios Flashback, it didn’t work I guess because of the USB stick I have so I tried Afuwin, Afuwin clearly showed that it successfully installed the BIOS but nothing ,not even the 2 rog screens ,I even tried flashing the bios using ai suite technique and nothing. Idk what to do.

I have an Asus Crosshair V formula Z
FX9590 CPU

Im trying to flash the latest version because it has all modules added so it should just work , Correct ? And again I followed everything to the T . help please

I also realized my UEFI SSD only shows when I enable fast boot

@Codyoco1

Some things you can verify:

- For Flashback, be sure the Bios C5FZ.CAP is in the main directory on your USB key.

- Be sure you are using the Flashback USB port behind your PC.

- You can try to format your USB key in FAT32.

Thank you for the quick reply all,everything you said is in place and verified like I said ,everything to a T ,I’m tech savy ,so thats why I’m frustrated, cause idk what’s going on or if I’m missing something

My only other hope right now is too buy a 1gb 2.0 flash drive and see if it works with bios flashback. I have a 8gb 2.0 and a 32gb 3.0

@Codyoco1

Ah, i see what you think… You are considering the possibility that your USB keys are too big to work with Flashback. Hard to know if it is the case but you have another hope that don’t require you to buy anything. You can try this trick as a workaround:

Try to partition your USB key so that the first partition in FAT32 that Flashback will try will be of reasonable size. It is worth a try…

OK got it I’ll do that right now. Thanks

Well it was worth the try I guess I’m still getting 6 blinks,then that’s it. I just don’t know, do you think I should try my USB 2.0 8gb ? Do the partition on it then covert it to an MBR format.
I’ve tried both GPT and MBR none works ,the only difference is I haven’t tried MBR on my 2.0, sigh Jesus Christ I hope this works
