[Offer] ASUS CrossHair V Formula Z MOD bios 2201

@Codyoco1

It is worth a try.

Well my 2.0 refuses to convert to MBR.I’m using diskpart. I got no other tricks up my sleeve it is indeed frustrating. I think I’m giving up now. It was fun while it lasted ,been trying for 3 days straight :man_shrugging:, guess it wasn’t meant to be.

So just an update I only got it to work with using Clover,I’m happy but wish I could of just done the bios. Clover worked great except my ram is 8gb and only 4gb usable . but cheers for the reply

@Codyoco1

I am glad you found a way to make it work.

@Arx

Did you ever get this working? This is the only other case of Linux with NVME on a CVFZ board I could find online.

I tried installing Linux standalone before windows on a NVME - it would install, but when rebooted it would fail to find the bootsector. Did you try using Clover?

Windows installed & boots fine from the bios entry as expected.

In the words of XKCD 979 - what did you see?

EDIT: Never mind, figured it out - the Linux USB installation stick must be started in UFEI mode from the BIOS, and then it will install a ~500mb EFI bootloader partition at the beginning of the drive, and it’s own boot entry in the BIOS, like the WIndows entry where it’s separate to the drive name.

Can confirm this works with WD_Black SN750 NVME drives

@Phoenix48 Hello phoenix, I wanted to ask you if this mod works with a ssd wd black sn750, and if so, what file do I have to download? Only v.17 or others? Thank you so much.

U got an user on previous post stating his success… did u read it?
The mod is for any NVMe drives regarding brand/model, has nothing to do with Windows drivers.
As Phoenix48 stated v17 has a new EFI Intel Gigabit Lan module…did u read it?
Wot is ur concern regarding this version or previous? U want latest dxe modules version on a bios or not, simple an non NVMe related to.

If I had read and understood it, gentleman, I would not have asked in the first place, that is more than clear, so I think the question "did I read it?" It is half absurd / ridiculous to use it for what you see, however, having a lot of uncertainty about this subject because I am totally new and ignorant, as you can see, I always ask to make sure that there will not be any strange problem and remain calm, because I should I have to act if a problem occurred and that takes time, gentleman, time that is not something I have plenty of. I appreciate your particular way of answering my questions, and I hope you have an excellent weekend, and rest assured that I am going to pay you both boys Stickmode and Phoenix 48. Best regards.
PS: If it bothered him so much that I asked, as he points out with majestic arrogance, he would not have answered me and he would have ignored me. Good luck in life, you will need it.

Sry sir, do not need lessons of life from u or any one else as it passes already half century to the end of it… Just take as it is and if u dont like throw it away.
There is no assurance of nothing in the mod world and we all deal with the problems when they came because we decided to take the risk/chances or not.
So likewise have a nice weekend, oh another thing, this is a user forum with shared info and experiences with no money bound, we dont work and live form it, pay a little more respect of it and users.
Over n out.

There is no need for anyone to insult another on this platform. I understand that things can get stressful however this world is already a crappy place with all that is going on. We don’t need to make it that much worse. No, I am not pointing a finger at anyone. This Platform doesn’t need any negativity from anyone at any point. My experience is that this Mod works for any drive that I have tried.

With that pop-up message I am assuming that the Bios mods have ended. Sad

where can i get the modded bios at? i cant get the download for the formula z mod. would really love to be able to boot from my 970 evo. thanks

@achaps81

Latest version is currently v17 and can be found in post #444

omg that is AWESOME

uggg security verification failed

@achaps81

It is normal. Because it is a modified .CAP BIOS, the verification of the capsule of the BIOS will fail. You can’t flash it from inside the BIOS. You must bypass the verification by using the Flashback feature.

Were you able to get that bios Mod installed? It is most likely the last one we’ll get. I hope more are to come but the platform is aging. The Bios Mod works great.

With this BIOS mod, the AMD Raid will support SSD´s arrays with trim support?

@jrcmilanez

The AMD controller still have all the same capabilities as before.
