How To Enable Resizable Bar

  • Normal Resizable Bar: Use ReBarSate from here, And Run as Admin.
  • Nvidia Turing (GTX 1600/RTX 2000): Use this, And Run as Admin.

You need to enable Above 4G Decoding for Resizable Bar and Disable CSM/Legacy (boot to UEFI only). To enable it, go to bios → Advanced → System Agent (SA) Configuration → Above 4GB MMIO BIOS assignment and enable it.

How to Flash the BIOS

Based from [Guide] How to flash a modded AMI UEFI BIOS, and here, Me and @LyGhT used Afuwin method, which requires afuwin v3.05.04. You might need to transfer your FD44 data from original bios to the modded bios, you can use FD44 Editor, UEFITool v0.25.0/0.25.1 (don’t use newer version as it could cause pad file corruption), or CoffeeTime. Here are the steps using UEFITool v0.25.0:

  1. Use intel flash programming tool to make a bios dump (fptw64 -d backup.rom)

  2. Open backup.rom with UEFITool v0.25.0, search GUID FD44820B-F1AB-41C0-AE4E-0C55556EB9BD, extract as-is, save the .ffs with any name you wish, and if your bios does have a configured Gbe Region, extract as-is that too.

  3. Open the modded.rom you’ve just downloaded with UEFITool v0.25.0, replace as-is the stock FD44820B-F1AB-41C0-AE4E-0C55556EB9BD with the extracted one earlier from your bios dump, and if necessary, the Gbe region too. Once done, save the file, and that bios will be ready to use.

Once everything is done, make sure you’re already in bios v2604. These are the step by step:

  1. Download the official bios from asus web, and the modded bios, put both on the folder where afuwin v3.05.04 reside

  2. Have a flash drive, make an EFI bootable, and replace the original .efi bootable with mod grub, boot to bios, and boot off the usb (Boot Override to the usb with mod grub), you’ll see something like this:

  3. After entering mod grub type and enter each line below (these setup_var is only for bios v2604, for other version, you need to find it yourself):

setup_var 0x399 0x0
setup_var_3 0x399 0x0

setup_var 0x38A 0x0
setup_var_3 0x38A 0x0

setup_var 0x38B 0x0
setup_var_3 0x38B 0x0

then type reboot, press enter, it’ll reboot and immidiately reboot to bios, go to efi boot grub again, and this time do the same but it’s 0x1 instead of 0x0, like this:

setup_var 0x399 0x1
setup_var_3 0x399 0x1

setup_var 0x38A 0x1
setup_var_3 0x38A 0x1

setup_var 0x38B 0x1
setup_var_3 0x38B 0x1

then type reboot, press enter, do not go back to bios, let it enter windows (just make sure your ssd/hdd with OS installed is 1st boot order before doing the very 1st step).

What offsets are these? These are:

  • 0x399 is ME State
  • 0x38A is ME Fw Re-Flash
  • 0x38B is Local FW Update
  1. Download and check if the ME FW status is unknown using Intel CSMEVDT:

  2. If everything is set, open cmd as admin, change directory to where afuwin reside, type afuwinx64 officialbios.CAP and enter, wait till it finishes, and then continue with afuwinx64 moddedbios.rom /GAN, wait till it finishes, and after that, reboot your pc.

  3. Thats all, enjoy the mod  .

**During our testing, we (me and @LyGhT)did an additional afuwin command, which is after running the afuwinx64 officialbios.CAP, we did moddedbios.rom /p /b /k /n /me /x /GAN, which flashed the bios… and it gave Error 18 AFTER flashing it:

Which is wierd, but nevertheless, for safety measure, we repeat the command using /GAN only, and it flashed without the error:

Greetings!
Let me ask/
Are you using:
EFI Intel RST RAID Driver - 14.8.0.2377
OROM Intel RST for SATA - 14.8.0.2377
Is this correct?
If this is the limit for H110, then it is clear.
I have version 17.8.3.4687 working fine on Gigabyte Z370 and Z270.
18.31.51.5346 and 18.35.0.4635 also work,
and version 19.0.1.5466 and newer no longer work.
Thanks/

the stock was 14.8, and updated it to 15.9, since iirc 100/200 would do fine with 15.9 based on the info from the forum.

i never had a raid setup to begin with, so feel free to test it if you do have the board.

What are the stock raid efi/orom from both of your boards? also which z270/370 we are talking abt?

Gigabyte Z370PD3/Z270PD3 Motherboards

Win11 Driver Version: 18.37.0.1002

UBU:

Yes, indeed, I don’t use RAID-massive/
Thanks/

This was on stock firmware:

  • 17.5.0.4136 on Z370PD3

  • 15.5.0.2875 on Z270PD3

And? You’re talking here about H110 chipset not 200 or 300, more recent/modern versions of the OROM/EFI are not compatible. And nothing to do with OS drivers…
And only a system using a RAID volume will take advantage of updated ones… not NVMe or AHCI disks on a system.
Explain what’s your doubt on this…

No, no doubt. Question out of curiosity, I mentioned the H110 chipset above.
Rather, the question is whether I am using version 17.8.3.4687 correctly?

I don’t have an H110 to test it.

For RAID-massive, you need identical HDDs, which I don’t have.

Thanks/

Yes, v17 its correct for 300 series, you’re ok cause as you mentioned, not even using RAID setups.

Thanks/:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:  :+1:

Can confirm, everything works well!

Even TPM and secure boot does works afterwards.
