Managed to flash updated microcode only via USB flashback:
I tried using flashrom v1.2 to attempt a backup ROM; however the flash chip is not recognized.
Items number 2 and 11 microcode were replaced and successfully flashed; again only through USB Flashback procedure.
Thus the UBU tool is functioning even with a motherboard that sports TPM in the BIOS/UEFI, at least for microcodes. 
So a small amount of Christmas cheer in the BIOS/UEFI wasteland!
