Hello!
Let me ask, does AMD Radeon R9 FURY X (GCN 3.0) work normally with Rebar?
Is it possible that there are some surprises, like on my T-Rex :t_rex: Radeon R7 350 (GCN 1.0) Oland :slightly_smiling_face: /since they use the same drivers/
Yes, I see that the memory is 4096Mb, it is better than 2048 and it is newer.
Thanks!

No, it does not. GCN 1~3 with rebar asic is buggy as hell (texture loads wierdly), what’s even worse if crossfire is enabled and rebar asic is enabled (adrenalin menu shows rebar toggle as enabled), it gets even worse. AFAIK GCN at 4GB for rebar will give you bad results.

So to answer your question, does it works? Yes. Is it good? No, user @LyGhT has tested this with his Fury Nano iirc and S9300X2 flashed as Fury nano on both vbios chips, its performance was ok, but the bugs is everywhere. BUT i never tested RX 460/560 both 2gb and 4gb version so idk if it applies the same. This happen both on stock driver and R.ID modded driver. Someone said that this feature was initially not meant to be used during gcn lifetime, and it’s just recently been discovered, so maybe for rebar below 8GB, it has never been done/coded properly, and it’s on amd side for that.

For rebar asic, i do recommend RX 470/570/480/580/590 and Vega gpus that are minimum 8GB, it will give you a proper usage.

Of course I know that RX 470/570/480/580/590 work great/
And if I take something from the newer and “cheaper” ones, I’m leaning towards RX 6700, at least the “rays” are present there.

Only the prices are crazy for DDR/:upside_down_face:
Thanks!

Dear @Koekieezz, since you are a great expert in this matter, with your permission, I have another question:

  • the firmware of my Z370PD3 board contains the ReBar option - the position option is only Auto, directly in the BIOS settings, so is it possible to change the ReBar size without using ReBarState.exe?
    Sincerely grateful!

@Zaver I think we should move the topic to [Release] Resizable BAR BIOS EFI Module since this is off topic from the title

Hi Guys, I just found this modded BIOS.

I’m currently running W11 on a modded 4801 BIOS that allows me to boot from NVME.
My current system is:
E5-1680 v2
Sabertooth X79
24gb DDR3 2400
RX 6800
Samsung 970 EVO 1tb (NVME)

Do you think it could give me issue booting into Windows after updating the BIOS to this version? If possible I’d prefer not to do a clean install of W11 unless it is absolutely necessary.

Ty in advance

@CMK97 You can just bios flashback this (or downgrade to a version older bios, then bios flashback this bios mod, if you want intel me fw to be updated too), and your nvme boot will be as-is the previous mod you did, no clean install required. This bios mod uses the latest bios from asus web. You can see what have been updated and added in the post above.

If you have your own OC profile, save it to a usb driver, bios flashback this mod bios (or downgrade then bios flashback this bios mod), load up your OC profile, make sure csm disabled and then you can enable above 4g decoding, and use rebarstate executable and set it at value 32 (basically unlimited/very large bar size) to enable rebar.

Thank you for developing the BIOS and support you provided. I managed to succesfully install it - using the downgrade / upgrade method you recommended - and I have enabled REBAR.
The only thing is that, in order to avoid a clean installation of W11, you must have installed W11 removing the secure boot requirement otherwise it would obviously fail to boot.

@CMK97 Seems like it would need a clean reinstall of windows (or maybe just recreate the efi bootloader?). I have the same issue on my msi gp62mvr 7rfx (old installation, immidiately give me “Secure boot check violation” kind of error and cant boot to os), but booting to windows 11 usb installer is just fine.
