I’m so sorry to raise a dead thread, but I’m just curious. Does this archive contain a modded bios for the Z97WS

very cool hope you dont mind a few questions. Aren’t the Spectre meltdown fixes applied via Windows update or is this different? Do these cpu updates affect system performance? Also, what do you mean by full NVMe support? Currently have 3 NVMe drives in the system and am booting to one of them, so what other support functionality does the modded Bios contain? This also update the raid oprom version? I really do appreciate any response. I feel like I’ve been searching a desert for years looking for someone who has intimate expert knowledge on this motherboard. Thank you.

Seems to disable secure boot, im sure theres a way to get it running again after flashing this…any ideas?

By now Windows modern OS contains these mcodes…not in 2019… MS is far more slow than OEM vendors/Intel releases.
These patches can affect system performace depending on global hardware of a system, sometimes may not even be perceptable by user on a certain degree.

Mods/updates done to this bios version are describedd in the OP… what don’t you understand here… just compare the original DXE/opROMs/cpu mcodes and you’ll see.

Set boot settings to “PURE” UEFI mode, not CSM/AUTO, this is a requirement for Secure boot and pure UEFI environment.

Thanks for your feedback. I was able to renable secure boot after flashing once more and then immediately updating the secure boot keys per the latest Microsoft recommendations. Everything seems to work quite well.

You will have to excuse my lack of knowledge here but are there any other more current updates that could be added to this particular board? I love this old MOBO and may get another couple of them

Not really of great impact but yes…compared to the mod here shared, maybe Intel vBios, full updated mcodes to latest, EFI/opROM Lan, only this requires a bit of testing, a bit of work and time and some advanced knowledge.
Dont ask me anything of this, i dont have time for it.
I would stay for the stability and non-negative reports on the shared mod here.
