Hi All
I’m trying to figure out/piece together the guide for flashing Hans Custom BIOS/UEFI - to Winbond W25Q64FV chip via the CH341A for the Asus Z9PE-D8 WS as provided above.
I have some Winbond W25Q64FVAIG chips on route that are apparently the same as Winbond W25Q64FV according to ChatGTP & Perplexity as did not want to mess up the original chip just incase.
Is there anything missing/needs amending below? query in step 05
- Power off mains to Motherboard
- Remove CMOS battery from MB
- Remove BIOS chip from MB (observe/log chip dot location)
- Place Winbond W25Q64FV chip in CH341A programmer socket (diagram inc chip dot placement in tool app)
- Extract cap file into bin via UEFI Tool 0.2.8.0
(extract as is or extract body? Z9PED8WS.bin) - Install CH341A drivers from CH341PAR.exe
- Connect the test clip to BIOS chip.
- Connect CH134A programmer to USB.
- Run CH341A_c.exe from CH341A program v1.29 folder.
- Go to “Auto” and uncheck “Erase” and “Blank”
- File/Open Z9PED8WS.bin
- Operate/flash
Edit just found this great illustrated guide Do our none soldered BIOS chips fit staight into the CH341A socket?
