[OFFER] Gigabyte GA-AX370-Aorus Gaming 5 BIOS mod

I’m going to wait for the next AGESA version before I make any modded firmware I’ve already seen MSI have outed a firmware with AGESA 1.1.0.1. The AGESA version other manufacturers are using I believe is just a beta and doesn’t seem to do much either.

Hello =)
i hope i can post here my problem …

i’ve a GA-AX370-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0) with OEM-Bios =/
it’s still Version F5 installed and i cant update to a newer Version - the manufacterer from the Complete-PC dont update the bios and there dont new bios-updates at the homepage…

i tried to use ami aptio V firmware utility to flash the oem … but there still an error "46 - error problem getting flashing information"

is there any way to flash the oem to an original?

i hope anybody has an idea =/

I’d need a lot more information than that. Pictures of the board, a copy of the firmware the board is currently using along with any flashing tool you have been using. I might be able to work out an override with all of those things.

Ok … i have a copy of the installed bios still saved… can i contact you anywhere?

Im so happy that you try To help me

Just plonk everything on mega.nz then drop the link here and I’ll take a look.

hey =)

here is it … i hope the pictures are usefull enough … the board is still in use … have maked two pictures with cpu-z too…
thanks a lot <3

@muhkuh this override should work. Enter Q-Flash, flash the “FlashMeFirst” image, after the update is complete and the system restarts enter Q-Flash again then flash the G5F10M image. After the update you should have a fully fledged Gaming 5 with no nasty OEM stuff. I can’t guarantee this will work, but it should do. Bare in mind I cannot test this so if the system fails to boot after the update flip to the backup ROM, enter Q-Flash, flip to the “bad” ROM, then reflash the chip to recover it.

I might need to make additional changes but this should be enough.

@ket good morning friend …
thanks =)

but it dont work =/
the flashmefirst file works … but the second image cant flash (oemid mismatch) =(

I thought that might be an issue. I’m going to have to cook up a special flavour firmware that will flash to your board

EDIT: There is a lot of custom data with that OEM image, not sure what the best way to go about things is atm.

Oh ok … is there any way to go to the Original bios from Gigabyte ? Or is the oem so hard locked?

You have a lot of custom data in that OEM image including what looks like a Windows key. Best thing to do might be to just make a custom image based on that OEM firmware. Not sure yet. Did you try updating to the normal modded firmware through DOS? The modded DOS flash utility might automatically ignore the OEM ID.

Yeah with the Windows key i know … can be deleted, when its a help … have my own licence

Its really bad with oem… there is no Firmware from Hyricane to Update a newer one …

Hope you find a way :slight_smile:

Edit - i tried it over dos but the Error with „getting flash Information“ was the same

Ur file over dos didnt tried yet

To get a normal Giga firmware on your board it looks like disabling the OEM ID check will be necessary. Not sure if I’m going to be able to find the tools to decompile the DOS utility to disable the OEM check. Someone over at this thread CLICK might have the tools to disable the OEM ID check with efiflash, or mflash, which is already a modded version of efiflash.

@muhkuh after doing some digging for efiflash commands try flashing from DOS with mflash (modded efiflash, just renamed in case people needed the vanilla efiflash) as follows; MFLASH.exe G5F10M.rom /X /C Might not work but worth a go, there isn’t a lot of info available for efiflash.

@ket it drives me crazy =/ ^^

@muhkuh after looking at the OEM and retail firmware I decided the best thing to do (for now anyway) is just to change the OEM ID in the retail firmware. This means theres no Windows key but you get a much more updated firmware with a lot more options. You shouldn’t get an OEM ID mismatch error now. DOWNLOAD

holy … f*cking goodness … it works … omfg omfg …
man … u’re the best <3 <3 <3

can i now update the official from gigabyte? or need i the modded from you?

shit thx man <3

edit … i mean for the future … works the official from gigabyte now? :smiley:
edit2 … dude … i love you <3 i’ve successfully updatet to the official f22b from gigabyte … awesome work … u made it <3

I would have said you would need to try for yourself if you can now flash to retail Giga firmware, good to know you can. I’ll have to make a small pack for people with the OEM Gaming5 you have so they can flash to retail firmware.

Yeah sure … its very helpfull for Users with oem
U Break it… awesome … cant believe it but it Works… without errors <3

Many many many thanks

@muhkuh did you update to F22b by using Q-Flash after updating to the modified F10M? Just so I know what to put in the readme for the OEM to Retail firmware pack.
