My 2700x idles at 27c -28c with xfr2 squeezed at max I can get. Im using an 240mm aio , hope this helps
No, unless your room is 45c, unless the cpu is under load
Anyone here has any idea how to add the pob module from one bios to another? F24d doesnāt have it idea is to grab it from f22 to f24d on gaming it x370
Sorry for the late reply. I mean I have no idea wich one is. Must be the one with nbios settings in it. I honestly have up
Which module are you trying to find @Jman maybe I can help and tell you which it is? I donāt understand what ānbios settingsā means, so donāt say it like that again
I lost my temper and bought a 280ā¬ mb shame the best one is from gigabyte . Soobthats what I bought. Gigabyte X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI. Thank you anyways @Lost_N_BIOS
3400C14, "fast" timings - No errors after 4 passes.
Out of curiosity flashed F23 back and tried the very same settings - wouldnāt post, then I tried 3333 "safe" timings from calculator - posts, but throws a small number of errors in memtest
So Iām back on F24 and, I donāt believe Iām typing this, Iām actually reasonably happy with a k7 biosā¦ whatever they fixed (or brokeā¦) in that release seems to agree with the memory/memory controller.
@c2h5oh hello there, just wanted to say that 4 passes aint much. Had mine pass 7h30 hours memtest86 with 0 errors at 3400mhz on the gaming k5. 0 errors. Surprised af when I woke up and saw that. Later that day boot Tom Clancyās Rainbow six siege. Crashes mid first game. I would advise you to run mem test a whole day at least
@Jman - itās OK, now you have new shiny toy Hope you guys are talking multiple instances of HCI Memtest
@Lost_N_BIOS yes 1024 MB each. I should get the x470 aorus gaming 7 wifi delivered tomorrow, canāt wait to be able to push my shiny new B-die kit to 3600mhz ( hopefully)
Run as many HCI as cores you have, then split available memory (minus some, for PC usage while you play around) between those, then run for loooong time, then you know you are stable. Sounds like you already know
3600MHz! Stuck/stalling at 1600MHz here I think, havenāt looked in a while, waiting to move back to a quad system instead of this lame G3258
@Lost_N_BIOS at the moment with the gaming k5 the most I can squeeze my new mem kit is 3066 cl12. It reaches 3200cl14 and even 3400mhz. But using the extreme preset from Dram Calculator performance gains are much bigger @3066 cl12 even then 3400 cl14(unstable af) board bios is iffy and doesnāt even have the necessary settings to stabilize cpu and ram speeds. Thatās the main reason I upgraded the board. Ram speed. With a gskill tridentz 4133mhz cl19 B-die I should be able to reach stable 3600mhz with 2700x then epic Iāll probably be happy with it until 3800x releases
Why with 4133Mhz ram wouldnāt you run higher than 3600, only CPU stability limitation?
Youre in for a treat fella, ill part with mine when nelson gets his eye back
Ryzen 2nd gen prefers tighter timings over high clock speeds for performance gains, my ram at 3333 cas 14,11,11,11 runs faster than when i set it to 3666 cas 16
Some people say dont bother with memtest at all, i aint one of em, however they are repeated tests after a couple of passes, all you are doing is limiting your modules lifespan by leaving it running all night, no big deal if the rams from corsair of course, they have a no quibble lifetime guarantee, also note windows10 has tons of memory holes that keep popping up for no reason, just shitty random errors for no good reason, i hear it will be mainly fixed in the next major windows update, but i aint holding my breath, w10 is already 3 years old its been a pain in the ass from day one, the best one ive ever used was win10 version 1603, everything after that has been as buggy as madonnas knickers
Server ram is designed for continued stress but desktop ram you have to be a bit careful.
If your games crash but memtest doesnt, this is guaranteed to be an os / driver problem.
3 weeks ago i had a buggy radeon driver that really messed up youtube video colours, i was blaming adobe flash but nope it was the gpu driver
Running 3400mhz with fast preset from Dram Calculator gives much bigger improvement over 3600 cl15 in my experience Soo far.running my 2700x at 1.4v 4.2ghz and ram at 3400 cl14 with tight subtimings finally. Sucks to say it but gigabyte did a hecc of a job with the x470 aorus gaming 7 wifi. Everything feels premium and runs great
It s a bloody good board that will last you for years and years, its also nice to know gigabyte will send you a free bios chip if you contact them, they sent me 2 spares, one of them has a special bios i did myself for linux optimisations, yes indeed, this board aint even in the same league as their shitty x370 stuff.
with the x470 gaming7 wifi theyve got rid of dumb things like dual soundcards and put the money into the hardware, and as a result its a mint board also looks beautiful
@Lost_N_BIOS I bought this kit thinking ryzen2 . Ryzen Zen+ shits itself to handle anything above 3466mhz.in my experience
