@razorlikes there is meant to be support for 5000 series CPUs on X370 boards but those updates won’t arrive until early next year, probably between jan-march. We will see how things lay when those firmwares are available (if they become available) and go from there.
@ket Where did you get that info? I could only find announcements for 400+ series boards and the ASRock Taichi.
@razorlikes its not overly common knowledge you need to be privvy to inside info, and in short that inside info is that some manufacturers at least (GB being one of them) have internal beta builds of firmware for X370 boards that enable 5000 series support. I’d think the first manufacturer to release such firmware would be the one to open the floodgate for other manufacturers as those manufacturers wouldn’t want to get a bad rep for not supporting something another manufacturer is.

@ket
what is the last BIOS for GA-AX370-Gaming5 with PBO?
could you mod F50e to have: PBO & XFR2 + blck working + disableable spreadspectrum + leave the rest stock (as its working fine so far)?
i would pay 10gbp next month (as i am a broke pensioner)
btw HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS n GIRLS
@Benman2785 I can probably do most of that but it would require a complete rebuild and take most likely a solid 3hrs to do, maybe more, GB/AMD keep changing things which means a lot of work I wouldn’t normally need to keep redoing things I also need to do. I couldn’t do that kind of work for that, sorry. I will at some point be making updated firmware though on a donation basis for time when/if X370 GB boards get updates for Zen 5000 support.
@ket
its ok - i wait for that
i hope there will be support for Ryzen 5000 on X370
Greetings to all! I own a really solid Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K3 motherboard. I consider my board one of “the good ones” as the memory multiplier works up to 3400Mhz and with BCLK 104.70Mhz I can get my HyperX Fury ddr4 up to almost 3600Mhz. Of course, as my Ryzen 7 1700 is starting to show it’s age in the workloads that I use, I would really like to upgrade to something like a Ryzen 5600X or even 5900X (if the prices ever come down). I will be more than happy to test things as my motherboard is dual-BIOS. Heck, I even have a BIOS programmer so I have many options if things go really wrong. I have to do BIOS modding since 775 days though, so I hope I can help in any way possible to make the Ryzen 5000 series support happen if Gigabytes leaves us in the mud.
Anyone know if there is any hope of the Gigabyte GA-AX Gaming to receive an update for Ryzen 5000?
Would love to update and get faster ram.
Any BIOS mods in the works for that? @KET is pretty kick axe at that kinda thing.
I might be interested in having a BIOS mod done (paid of course) if X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING (rev. 1.0) latest BIOS could be modded to my x370 board to expand RAM and CPU compatibility.
@KET, think this could work?
If nobody comes up with a working Ryzen 5000 bios for our gigabyte AX370 boards, I will do the modding myself during my spring holiday (26 Apr. - 2 May). The only caveat I see is that it will be tricky to find a Ryzen 5 5600X CPU to test it. I hope that I will be able to borrow from a friend by then.
PS. The project will be open on Github so if anyone wants to contribute and test (taking their own risk of having their board fried) they will be free to do so.
Fried? That scares me a bit, but if you mean bricking one of the BIOS, happy to help test on my K7.
I said it as a disclaimer. Truth is that, yeah, in case something goes wrong the BIOS itself might be bricked (fixable through an external programmer or, in our case, by booting with the backup BIOS). I reckon that some old official Gigabyte BIOS could fry a Ryzen CPU by feeding it over 1.65V Vcore. But haven’t heard of any board going bust from just a bad BIOS.
@blackrazor
pls send link to github - i will happily test your build for GA-AX370-Gaming 5
right now i use an unmodded F23f - because it works well with my Trident-Z RGB 3200CL14 and gives highest boost for my 2700X with PBO + XFR + UV
will get an Ryzen 7 5800X
@ket
Hi guy! I NEED X370 Gaming 5 F50a with remapping IOMMU groups for 2x GPU passtrough
By the way, where I can send donation for coffee to YOU ?
ping me: Nick Bk YAF.fy by btc-dust if you can///
Looks like you would have to email him as he doesn’t appear to be active on the board right now.
Hey guys its a waiting game at the moment GB still haven’t dropped anything that adds 5000 series support. If people start pressing them for it it’ll help move things along a bit faster but its a trickle down effect X470 boards are only just starting to get beta versions. @nikolobok don’t know what the current firmware is like for the Gaming 5 drop me a PM, I might be able to configure something to work not sure though and I don’t have any way of testing.
spam the gigabyte forum!!!

I added my thoughts @lolailogd
Well this is an interesting turn of developments. I’ll avoid too many specifics for now but apparently there is an EVGA XOC rep, EKWB rep, and Aorus rep actively trying to get me banned from some Facebook groups, I have no idea what the fuck the former two would have beef with me for never done anything to them so I assume they are just buddies of the Aorus rep as for the Aorus rep I think we can guess the deal there. If those reps want to play dirty because they can’t take an honest opinion I’ll publicly name the companies they work for.
Hey guys, just wanted to ask, has anyone here experimented with crossflashing a X470 BIOS to a X370 Gaming 5?
Apparently one of the guys from the Gigabyte forum has successfully crossflashed a B350 board to B450.
