[Offer] Intel Sandy/Ivy Bridge and Haswell VBIOS modules

I’m also not yet identified his assignment.

Replace the module EFI LAN on a compressed, it will give a little more space. :slight_smile:

@SoniX
Thanks, that did it :slight_smile:
Now after replacing all the relevant modules:

@ Pacman:

Please have a look into the post No 74 of this thread. My question has been unanswered.
Or don’t you know the answer yourself?

@Fernando
Aah, i’m sorry, i missed your question.
No, to tell you the truth, i have no idea what the IntelSaGopDriver is for, i can’t really find any info on it.
But the IntelGopDriver is the “Graphics Output Protocol Driver” used when system is in UEFI mode.

Thanks, Pacman!

@SoniX
I’m not sure if i found something or if it is luck, but i got VBIOS 2175 working on my Asus.
Here’s what i did if you want to test on your board.
I replaced VBIOS with MSI 2175_1 then IntelGopDriver with 5.0.1032 and the 878AC2CC with 6767, and it works!

EDIT: Also there was a user on tweaktowns forum that tried the MSI 2175 VBIOS on his ASRock Z87 Extreme6 and it didn’t work, but apparently 2173 worked.

Very interesting. 2175_2 works too? And which ports?

I already do not know what to think. While this exit one, search the original reference VBIOS 217x from Intel.

@SoniX
Ok, i have alot of testing, here is a bunch of results, on my Asus Z87m-Plus, it has 1 HDMI, 1 DVI and 1 VGA.

MSI 2175_1, 1032 Gop, 6767 module:
Only DVI.

MSI 2175_2, 1032 Gop, 6767 module:
All outputs Work.

MSI 2175_1, original Gop, and original 1215 module:
Only DVI.

MSI 2175_2, original Gop, and original 1215 module:
All ouputs Work.

Asus Z87-Deluxe 2170
Only DVI and HDMI, not VGA.

So, it seems that the Gop and the 878AC2CC module versions are unimportant, i am quite sure now the problem is because of the portmapping,
but what makes it really strange is that the MSI 2175_2 does not work on your board, as all outputs work on mine.
Also, when i got black screen on some tests, it was the same as for you, it posted and loaded Windows, only no video out.

I will do some more testing.

EDIT: Atleast i Think this gives us something to go on, it may make it easier finding the differences in the files, as we know what works,
and what doesn’t work on Three different boards, i will try the Intel 2170 also.

Found a Gigabyte 2173 different from previous, will test a Little later.

Added in VBIOS_HASWELL_TEST 0.3.1

Upd: GOP and 1215/6767, no need to test. They will work seamlessly on all motherboards Haswell.
I think we should make a common table to report the results. Later’ll post version of the table.

That is a very good idea.

@ SoniX and Pacman:
What do you think regarding the location of this thread? Wouldn’t it be better placed within >this< Forum section?

@Fernando
Yes, it is be a good location.

@SoniX
I will leave GOP & 1215 as they are in the BIOS from now, and yes a table to make sure all relevant info is available is a good idea.

I have planned doing alot of testing on Sunday, i will test all VBIOSes i have not tested, on both motherboards,
and i will write down what MB and BIOS version i have extracted the VBIOS files from so far, as this will make things easier also.

And thanks for the 0.3.1, it will come in handy.

This module to run the GOP base driver different built-in cards. Update it pointless, it has no effect on the result. It has a GUID the GOP base driver.

Upd: I do not know how to make a better table. How about that option.

@Fernando
I agree with Pacman.

Upd:
@Pacman
Test Haswell VBIOS 0.3.2
Fixed a bug in extracting the modules GOP and EFI VBIOS from GBT and ASRock.

@SoniX
I Think i may have found something, a simple crude way, could you please test this version of 2175.
I have now 2175_1 working with all outputs.
Thanks for 0.3.2 update, will try it, and the table looks good, but i will add some additional info to it.

Asus Z87-Deluxe/i7-4770K
HDMI and mDP - unfortunately does not check out. No adapters. :frowning:
DP - Works What was the problem? :slight_smile:

@SoniX
Great, then i Think my way of modding the VBIOSes work :slight_smile:
What i did was, i cross-compared the Intel Z87, Asus Z87-Deluxe, Z87m-Plus and Gigabyte Z87X-OC 2170 VBIOSes, and wrote down the location of all the non-version specific differences,
Then i changed in the MSI 2175_1 file all the values of those locations to what was in the 2170 files for the specific motherboards, and then re-calculated the checksum, to compensate for Changes, it seems to be on location AFA.
I got the MSI 2175_1 working with all outputs on my Asus, by using the data from it’s 2170 file, Before only DVI worked, i have made a mod with data from Intel 2170, but with that only DVI, HDMI, no VGA.
Changing all values may not be necessary, but needs more tests.
I’m not home right now but i can post the “Intel 2175” a Little later if you want it.

@Pacman
I ordered a motherboard Asus Z87-Plus and adapters. Think it through 1.5 -2 week will test further.

Ok, that sounds good.
Did you want me to post other mod of 2175?
I can also give you some documentation about what i did more exactly, if you want to have a look?

Yes of course, put please. :slight_smile:
And I forgot to ask. This MOD to GBT Z87X-OC works too?

I have not had the chance to test modded version on my gigabyte yet, only the Asus, i will try on the Gigabyte as soon as i get home,
I will post the mod and some documents shortly.
