[Offer] Various NVMe Mod 2022-X58/1366 PIN MB BIOSes

I’ve previously explained in detail how to do this yourself.
How to add an NVMe M.2 SSD module to motherboards with AMI Legacy BIOS support?
I’m sure you’ll succeed.

The following link will guide you.

Request for GA-EX58-EXTREME + Phison E18 (VEN_1987&DEV_5018)

Hi,

I have a Gigabyte GA-EX58-EXTREME running F13t. Currently using F13S from your post.

I flashed the pre-made 2022 mod from the collection but my NVMe is not detected.

Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_1987&DEV_5018&SUBSYS_50181987&REV_01

Could you add support for this controller please? Thank you!

I previously started a thread titled “How to Add NVMe M.2 SSD Support to Old Award-Phoenix BIOS Files?”. You can find it by searching the forum and do it yourself.

Anyway…
The file is attached for you.
2022_Gigabyte GA-EX58-EXTREME_EX58EX.13S_NVME_M.2_SSD_BIOS_MOD.rar (698.0 KB)

However, if the BIOS update is successful, I would like you to get back to us here and share your BIOS screenshots and M.2 SSD speed values. If you can do this, you will be guiding other users as well.

I guess I was fortunate on not bricking my GA-X58A-UD7 Rev 2. That said, the ROM file is found to have a checksum error and triggered a DualBios recovery.

@erik Have you since found (or built) a working BIOS mod for the UD7 Rev. 2?

Did you update using the official BIOS file?

If you could, there shouldn’t be a problem.
This file has been downloaded and used 54 times, and this is the first time an error has been reported by you.
That’s interesting.

I am not the only person who has reported issues with the modded FD bios for the GA-X58A-UD7 Rev. 2.0

Did you update using the official BIOS file?
If successful, could you please provide me with the device hardware ID information for your M.2 SSD?
I will prepare a new file for you.

I will prepare a new file for you.

It will be awesome if you can. FYI, I am actually not particularly looking for an NVMe BIOS mod.

I recently switched from an Asus R3E to a Gigabyte X58A-UD7. My UD7 is on the un-modded (factory) FD bios and while it recognizes my LSI MegaRaid 9260-8i controller AND can boot to grub menu on one of its controlled virtual drives the computer freezes whenever it tries to boot to an OS. I know it is a BIOS issue as I had similar problem with my R3E which I later resolved by flashing a modded BIOS.

If successful, could you please provide me with the device hardware ID information for your M.2 SSD?

I guess you could update it for Samsung NVMe. I might just go out and buy myself one if all fails .

Thanks @ismailTPC_Hastanesi !

My suggestion is to disable the SATA connections one by one via BIOS and test it using trial and error. Activate the SATA ports that don’t have problems and disable the others.
Unfortunately, one of the most common problems with x58 motherboards is SATA connection conflicts. For example, this problem can be seen when installing the operating system on an M.2 SSD drive.

Additionally, I will prepare some Samsung M.2 SSDs, which I have in my database and whose checksums have been prepared, for this motherboard.

Actually, the file is ready and I’ve reorganized it.
4 Samsung NVMe M.2 SSD modules have been added.
The image below contains detailed information.

However, before publishing the new file,
Could you try this BIOS file?

If the same problem occurs again, then I will share the new file I prepared.

Yep, that’s the one I’ve tried before I replied.

In fact, that’s the one that @erik and I reported issues with. In my case, it triggered a DualBios recovery due to BIOS checksum error in the ROM file.

Now, would you please try the new file I’ve prepared?
I’d appreciate it if you could provide details when giving me feedback.
This could include images or descriptions.
The new file I prepared is here.

I was able to flash your new FD ROM file (w/ no checksum error), but the computer freezes whenever it tries to boot to an OS from the Grub MENU.

Yes, I’ve tried disabling all onboard devices (including all the SATA ports) and also swapping around PCIe cards but to no avail.

Booting off of a virtual drive (VD)—one that’s managed by the LSI MegaRAID 9260-8i—is a no-go on the GA-X58A-UD7 Rev. 2.0.. I’ve even tried installing GRUB on a separate USB drive and then creating an entry for the OS on the VD, but the kernel freezes midway while initializing all the services and devices drivers.
